Responsibility 1:
- Work effectively inside a cross functional Core Team assigned to develop new business awards and carry the new business into a production setting by using the INPro process
- Work with Product Engineering to develop and perform the necessary testing of new product designs to develop an understanding of sensitivity to the manufacturing solutions
- Plan and perform required R&D to develop and understand viable manufacturing solutions for new product manufacturing requirements
- Utilize common approach to process development to ensure compliance with Inergy Knowledge Management (KM’s), Inergy Unchangeable rules, INstand and POMS
- Effectively utilize tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Process Flow, GD&T, ACAD, POMS, Lean Manufacturing , and Project Management to secure robust interactions between product design and manufacturing solutions
- Utilize documented best practices and lessons learned to ensure common approach to trouble shooting process problems and solving machinery issues
Responsibility 2:
- Assist Product Engineering personnel in evaluation new product designs for manufacturability. Help plan and coordinate the appropriate use of tools such as FEA & CFD simulation to support manufacturability.
- Provide support when required to aid in root cause problem solving for processes, equipment and quality issues.
- Support and or lead development of specifications for manufacturing solutions, processes or equipment.
- Support the validation of equipment design and construction compliancy to process requirements, INstand and World Wide standards
- Provide manufacturing technical expertise and input to review new product program opportunities to help evaluate feasibility
- Using the Inergy KM tools, document and share across the Corporation the knowledge learned
- Responsible to ensure customer requirements are met (including but not limited to: setting quality objectives, corrective and preventative actions, capacity analysis, logistics information, customer score cards and customer portals.

Responsibility 3:
- Assist and support continuous improvement events such a Team Feasibility and IPS Tool Workshops for new business development and current production.
- Work actively in continuous improvement and corrective action activities of the lean culture consistent with the POMS philosophy
- Continue education as required to research & understand industry advances that can improve Plastic Omnium’s competitive position and share this information throughout the Corporation.
- Authority and responsibility to stop production when a quality or safety issue arises
Responsibility 4:
- Perform risk analysis before LOTO and work performed inside machines
- Train and coach other technicians on LOTO and safe work practices
- Responsible to advise when standard work instructions are not covering a necessary specific activity
- Responsible to check the correct application of LOTO, in line with procedures
- Seek guidance from the LOTO steering Committee for any concerns regarding LOTO
Responsibility 5:
- Authority and responsibility to stop production when a quality or safety issue arises
- Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures
- Work requires walking, talking, seeing, hearing, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing
- Must be able to lift up to 33lbs on a regular basis
- Work requires working under high and low temperatures at certain times
- Ready to perform in a fast paced, results oriented environment with tight time constraints.
Responsibility 6:
- Provides support, training and coaches end users/operators during their shifts when needed
- Helps to unblock situation and applies contingency plan in case of PES issue
- Is in charge of the escalation process for software and hardware support
- Reports to the local PES Coordinator
- Forwards the blocking points and the enhancements requests
- Takes part in the Key Users’ “functional network”
- Opens support tickets and follows them till the complete resolution
- Receives support from central teams as need be, reports incident resolution to Local PES Coordinator
Personal Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems Design)
- 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience or equipment design experience
- Experience in automotive industry preferred
- Experience in large part blow molding industry or plastics processing industry is preferred
- Machine design and/or Process Engineering support within other high volume manufacturing industries
- High volume packaging experience would be an asset
- Product design experience would be an asset
Job Technical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to collect, maintain and analyze data
- Has a technical knowledge on : electricity, hydraulics and pneumatics, with the ability to recognize and manage hazardous energy sources machine by machine
- Experienced on BMM, Finishing Centers, and Utilities
- Full understanding of the LOTO: concepts, application, method, devices and the instructions used to lockout/tagout machinery
- Understand the choice of appropriate level of LOTO (when we have to apply complete LOTO, or partial LOTO or “door locked” only)
