Job Title: Paint Process Engineer

 

Job Type: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: 5100 Old Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625

 

Job Duties: Respects and follows safety rules (Plants, business trip, Personal protective Equipment). Takes part to “Quad” meeting and push application of Design to paint methodology. Uses and Follows paint development guide (opticolor & paint ‘in). Answers to project requests and define at the beginning of the project Paint Zoning commitment. Manages technical relationships with paint raw material suppliers (paint product validation through. Paint ‘In, samples for first runs….). Takes part to purchasing development chart drafting. Assists the MPM for paint validation. Follows up jigs development from CAD design to final acceptance on site (including prototype phase) Validates paint range / process / customer specifications (mechanical & aspect). Proposes and coordinates specific means realization (jigs, masking). Proposes coordinate path programming development. Plans, organizes and assists to initial samples realization. Takes part to run@rate (process validation) and report performance level and/or necessaries improvements. Coordinates the global quality of painted product. Fills the “plant process information” data. Proposes to the plant continuous improvement plan. Capitalize & compare / initial quotation. Manages / takes part to productivity projects (on plant request). Validates proposed solutions (specification & process hardiness) Capitalize validated actions. This position is 100% on-site from the Anderson, SC office, and requires 5% domestic and 2% international travel.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field of study and minimum 3 years of experience as a Paint Process Engineer, Robot Programmer, or related role where required experience gained.

 

Also requires experience in the following:

  • Process knowledge Robotic application of liquid paint to achieve Class A finish in the Automotive Industry.
  • Change of color and surface structure of metallic colors by changing process parameters.
  • Design of Jigs to achieve ergonomic, cost efficient and stiff jigs.
  • Placement of parts in the application window to achieve quality and part density requirements.

Salary: $105,000.00 per year.
