QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM COORDINATOR

QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS) COORDINATOR Essential Functions/Duties:

As a Quality Management System (QMS) Coordinator, your main targets are ensuring compliance with industry standards and driving continuous improvement. Key tasks include maintaining QMS documentation, planning/conducting internal audits, coordinating quality initiatives across departments, and achieving/maintaining IATF16949 certification. 

 

  • In observance of  vision, mission and quality policy, fostering the company’s values of entrepreneurship, network synergies & cooperation, focus, process control, and within the budgetary constraints to act in close collaboration with the Site Quality Manager.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, build-up, and efficiently support the Quality Management Department. Staff includes quality managers, quality engineers, advanced quality engineers, and supplier quality engineers.
  • Establish, document and continuously optimise Quality Management Strategies, deliverables and measurable, resource planning including budgeting and forecasting, execution, gap analysis and corrective actions of current and future quality management system in alignment with plant KPI's.
  • Maintain, Setup, map, document and optimise business processes through standardization of policies, instructions, forms and document control via the established LEO/VISO/COLLECTIO. Ensure that business processes address IATF/ VDA customer’s current and future needs and expectations. Training of new employees for LEO/VISO/COLLECTIO.
  • Authority to stop a process known to create non-conformances or to hold a document known to be non-conforming.
  • Monitor Quality Key Performance Indicators and drive and implement corrective actions or improvement initiatives using risk based approach QMS methodologies.
  • Lead implementation and monitoring of IATF 16949 standards, (support with ISO14000 and ISO50001). Fulfill Internal Quality deliverables for IATF 16949 Audit Program systems requirements.
  • Lead, plan and execute special assignments from the Quality Manager.
  • Has the authority and obligation to stop production in case unsafe working conditions are observed. Has the obligation to notify the President and HR for Safety related matters requiring immediate attention.

 

Physcial Demands / Work Environment Demands: 

Physical Demands: The physical demands of this job are significant and include the following:

  • Standing, Seating and Walking: Employees are required to stand and walk for the entire duration of their shift as there are no chairs available on the production floor. 
  • Lifting: The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Movement: Employees will frequently need to bend, twist, stoop, and climb in and out of forklifts as part of their duties.   Frequent reaching and stretching to handle materials at various heights, including overhead and ground level. 
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands is required for tasks such as operating a station, handling tools, equipment and materials. 
  • Hearing: Good hearing ability is essential to communicate effective and to be aware of safety signals in the environment. 
  • Visual Acuity: Must possess good visual acuity with the ability to see clearly at both near and far distances.  This includes the ability to read fine print and inspect detailed components or equipment up close.  Capable of performing tasks effectively with or without corrective.

Work Environment: Employees at our facility work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.  Key aspects of the work environment include

  • Temperature: The facility is not climate-controlled.  During the summer months, temperatures can become very hot, while in the winter, it can get quite cold.  Employees should be prepared to work in varying temperature conditions. 
  • Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is moderate, with employees frequently working on or around operating equipment. 
  • Pressure and Deadlines: The role requires working under pressure to meet deadlines.  Work shifts can change, and overtime may be required. Employees are expected to manage their time effectively and work efficiently to achieve production goals.  
  • Independence: Employees are often required to work alone and must be capable of performing tasks independently. 
  • Flexibility: Employees may be asked to move to a different area, or stations based on production needs, requiring adaptability and flexibility. 
  • Safety and teamwork are paramount, and all employees must adhere to company safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment including always wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the production floor. 

 

Education & Professional Training/Working Skills: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management of Business Administration or equivalent
  • Enahnced professional training on Quality Management subjects preferred
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in Quality Management functions of which 3+ years automotive industry
  • Six Sigma, Lean Management, 5S & equivalent
  • DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, GD&T
  • IATF 1649/ISO/VDA requirements & Auditing 
  • Current and active Certified Lead Auditor in ISO-9001/IATF16949
  • Expert knowledge in Quality Planning, Problem Solving & Quality Systems
  • Very organized, strong analytical skills
  • Experience of developing and maintaining quality systems/quality certifications (IATF/ISO)
  • Well versed in internal and external auditing
  • IT Knowledge: SAP QM, APIS, Qdas/Qstat
