About the Role
Join a fast‑paced, high‑performance automotive manufacturing environment as a Material Planner, where you will play a critical role in ensuring 100% on‑time delivery, optimal material flow, and efficient production support. In this Just‑In‑Time / Just‑In‑Sequence (JIT/JIS) operation, you’ll manage inbound and outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, supplier coordination, and line‑side material availability—all while reducing cost and maintaining quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Material Planning & Production Support
- Coordinate and schedule production materials to ensure 100% final product delivery while minimizing inventory, handling, and logistics costs in a JIT/JIS system.
- Maintain uninterrupted production flow by ensuring timely part availability and managing all container and line‑side material needs.
- Manage inventory levels, storage areas, and material presentation using FIFO and other best‑practice controls.
Inbound / Outbound Logistics
- Oversee receiving activities, perform quality checks based on standards (ASN, serial labels), and maintain dock scheduling for shipping and receiving.
- Coordinate standard and non‑standard shipments, including customs and legal documentation.
Customer & Supplier Interface
- Serve as the lead contact for Mopar requirements, responding to daily tickets and maintaining 90%+ delivery rating.
- Handle customer and supplier complaints, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution.
Team Leadership & Training
- Coordinate, monitor, and train team members involved in goods receiving, storage, material handling, and waste disposal.
- Train personnel on IT applications, scanner systems, and logistics procedures; assign tasks to Material Supervisors.
- Support personnel development, coaching, performance oversight, and workplace organization.
Compliance, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in audits (material coverage, layered audits, supplier shipments, FIFO, line‑side inventory checks).
- Support PPAP and PSO activities, ensuring material readiness and alignment with customer requirements.
- Uphold safety standards, environmental compliance, and IATF 16949/CSR/ISO 14001 requirements.
- Exercise authority to stop production when safety or quality issues require immediate intervention.
Qualifications
Education & Training
- Grade 12 / OSSD required; Post‑secondary education in a related field preferred.
- APICS / PMAC training strongly preferred.
Experience
- 3+ years in a materials/production planning role within a manufacturing environment; Tier‑1 automotive experience is an asset.
- Experience in JIT/JIS supply chains and familiarity with Chrysler‑based material flow a plus.
Skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities (8D, 5‑Why).
- Working knowledge of MRO and SAP; experience with esupplierconnect.com and Mopar Service Requirements strongly preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and deadline‑driven environment.
Languages
- English required; Spanish, German, and French considered an asset.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and handling of materials. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work performed in a non‑climate‑controlled facility with seasonal temperature variations.
- Moderate noise level with frequent interaction around operating equipment.
- Must be able to work independently, under pressure, and adapt to shifting priorities or station assignments.
- Adherence to all PPE and safety protocols required.
