Mission: 

To provide overall direction of Injection Molding production during the course of the shift

To ensure shift Associates follow all procedures, practices and protocols

To ensure all associates adhere to the 6 non negotiable’s and all other safety policies such as LOTO

To ensure all production requirements are achieved in terms of delivery of correct part quality and volume

To ensure that associates have everything needed to perform all aspects of their jobs safely and properly.

To have a good technical ability with regards to the Injection Molding process

 

Main Accountabilities:  This position is responsible for delivering the following

Adherence to all safety policies by all associates

Maintain part quality as defined for the product both internally and by the end customer

Key IPI’s must be achieved (OEE, Scrap rate, Tool change times)

Adherence to production schedule

Activities:

Injection production activities

Monitor work environment and mentor employee actions to ensure safe working conditions
To ensure validation part quality in line with “first piece approval process” FPA and in process validation
To ensure hourly checks are completed per press per product
Lead Associates to ensure they are following current Work Instructions
Monitor production schedule to ensure that parts are available for the Paint Departments and that assembly has parts needed for paint
Ensure World Class part quality is delivered to all customers
Communicate IPI indicators
Provide direction/assign task to Team Leader, Process Technician and Mold Setters
Report any safety or performance issues to Injection operation manager
Train and develop operators & team leaders on current and new product
To maintain schedule “job creation” in Mattec
To maintain reporting via Mattec of down time, scrap and production schedule
Ensure training new operators in all aspects of production is effective
To lead Kaizen, 5s and other CI related workshops as required
To conduct and lead QRQC
To apply, maintain, improve all WI related to injection
To provide comprehensive reports to Injection Manager related to performance during shift
To maintain OEE, CNQ, SMED and scrap targets
 

Injection process activities

To assist in operations as required – Team Leader role main focus
To review part quality and identify Injection defects
To liaise with Quality, Paint and Assembly departments to understand defects on parts
To ensure stock shorts are done affectively to protect downstream operations
To review process data with Process technician to understand root cause of defects
To understand and be responsible for material feed system operation and 5s, including the use of regrind
To supervise the “Process Technician” & team leaders to maintain up time and reduce scrap
To assist in process audits per shift to validate correct process
To ensure RFT at all times (quality mind-set)
To take/issue corrective actions and/or coaching as required to ensure no repeat issues
To review inspection criteria to make sure standards are maintained
 

PO standards

To ensure that all associated documentation is completed as required
To ensure all current PO standards are deployed and maintained
To ensure all WI comply to current standards and deliver the correct quality part
To ensure all associates adhere to content of WI
To be involved and deploy workshops using A3/8D and Kaizen formats
To apply and maintain 5s standards
 

Competences requirements:

10 years of experience in materials management
Experience in JIT Automotive business.
Experience in MRP/Scheduling

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
