Main Mission
- Define and design paint process schemes for new awarded projects at the division level.
- Oversee the development of paint processes and associated equipment by the Division Paint Team and Plant Paint Engineering Teams for both product (OPTIMAP) and industrial (OPTIPRO) projects.
- Ensure quality, cost, and timing targets are met for all paint-related equipment.
- Make strategic technology choices and drive mid-term technology development to meet paint quality targets, enhance operational competitiveness, and establish golden rules.
- Cascade development methodologies across the division’s paint engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Process & Equipment Development
- Ensure paint equipment complies with HSE and energy standards, minimizing environmental and manpower impact.
- Design paint technologies and industrialize products across operational locations.
- Guarantee cost optimization and budget adherence during AVP phases.
- Ensure systematic application of "Design for Paint" rules across all teams.
- Manage scope changes and ensure convergence toward budget, timing, and quality targets.
- Apply OPLs, lessons learned, and best practices in line with POMS standards and HSE requirements.
- Capitalize on project learnings and ensure cross-functional sharing at the division level.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, and mentor Paint Group Leaders and Engineers.
- Support recruitment efforts for Engineering Center Paint Engineers.
- Align team competencies with project requirements.
- Develop expertise and technical depth within paint teams.
- Manage project workload and resource allocation.
- Identify extended team support needs and subcontractor requirements.
- Oversee gross and net cost management for the direct team.
- Supervise and challenge budgets for Manufacturing Engineering teams.
Process Governance – OPTIMAP & OPTIPRO
- Ensure adherence to OPTIMAP and OPTIPRO guidelines and key milestones.
- Propose optimized development tools to improve performance and deliverable quality.
- Coordinate the division-wide application of OPTIMAP PPE and OPTIPRO Paint Equipment processes.
- Define and enforce paint equipment standards across the division.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Activities
- Represent the Paint Department at Level 2 and 3 milestones.
- Participate in critical launch readiness events.
- Ensure paint technology and know-how networks are effectively managed and deliver expected outcomes.
- Report on overall paint activities to division management.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Plastics, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of paint chemistry and paint processes on plastic parts.
- 7–9 years of experience, including a proven track record in team management.
- Mandatory experience in advanced/development project management.
- Mandatory experience in paint activities (development or production environments).
