MISSION

 

This position uses quality engineering principles, tools, and techniques to increase quality and reliability throughout the OPmobility product line, organization and supply chain.

 

 

Responsibilities & Activities

 Supplier Quality:

  • Monitor internal and supplier quality performance
  • Champion proactive solutions to ensure acceptable quality performance
  • Participates in or conducts supplier audits
  • Assists in monitoring, communicating, and improving key supply chain performance indicators (KPI’s)
  • Issues, manages, and evaluates corrective actions for improved performance
  • Effectively responds to inquiries or complaints from suppliers

 

Product Inspection:

  • Assists in directing incoming inspection and troubleshooting material issues (form/fit/function)
  • Performs audits on product and processes to ensure PPAP and Process documentation follows required standards
  • Assists in directing MRB process
  • Authority and responsibility to stop production when a quality or safety issue arises

 

Quality:

  • Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems
  • Identifies and records problems relating to product/process/quality system
  • Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through designated channels
  • Verifies the implementation of solutions
  • Applies quality techniques, disciplines, and standards
  • Meets performance goals detailed in the quality engineer task and oversight reports
  • Assists in managing gauge control
  • Assists in MSA requirements
  • Uses and calibrates measurement equipment
  • Effectively responds to inquiries, complaints, or opportunities for improvement from customers, co-workers, and management
  • Able to analyze and interpret scientific and technical documents
  • Responsible to ensure Customer Requirements are met
  • Setting Quality Objectives
  • Setting Corrective and preventable actions
  • Customer Score Cards
  • Customer portals
  • Investigate technologies, processes, and methods for improving efficiency and increasing product quality and reliability
  • Performs 5S duties at the end of the day/week

 

Legal Compliance:

  • Ensure legal compliance with state, federal, and OSHA requirements
  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

 

 

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

 

Personal Background

  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or 4 years related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or in a related technical discipline
  • Prior training and experience in TQM, Lean or Six Sigma preferred

 

Job Technical skills

  • Must have demonstrable experience in the following disciplines:

     * APQP-PPAP/CP/FMEA                                                      * Failure and test data analysis

     * QMS Audit Principals                                                        * CMM/Keyence IM/WM Programming

     * Statistical Analysis/Process Control and                           or layout experience

         Sampling Principals                                                          * Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Power

     * Blueprint Interpretation/Basic GD&T                                Point/Access)

                    * MSA – Prior use of measurement tools                        * Corrective Action/Root Cause Analysis

                                            

Job Soft Skills

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups of people, and be able function independently of direct supervision
  • Able to work as part of a team or as a Team Leader to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Knowledge with IATF/Automotive Quality System Requirements and Auditing Principals
  • Proven ability to effectively use quality engineering tools
