MISSION
The Procurement Analyst evaluates potential suppliers based on price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support, then contract the product or service to be delivered.
Responsibilities & Activities
New Product Development:
- Responsible for communication between Engineering and Suppliers for sourcing parts during the design and development process
- Collaborates with Project Managers to plan and prioritize purchasing activities
- Reviews new part number releases, collaborates with Sales and Engineering to determine estimated annual usage (EAU)
- Delivers requests for quotes (RFQ) to suppliers, reviews quote and determines the best suited supplier based on pricing, MOQ, and quality
- Updates the system with quotes
- Reviews engineering change notices (ECN) and provides when updated prints/documents are required
Supplier Improvement Program:
- Maintains supplier performance records
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues with shipments, prices, products, or quality issues
- Generates Quarterly Vendor report cards and summary reports
- Evaluates supplier performance
- Provides improvement plans and collaborates with suppliers until improvements are complete
Supplier Selection Process:
- Reviews current supply base and determines if any current supplier can meet our business needs
- Researches new and selects suppliers
Purchasing:
- Prioritizes and sends approved purchase orders and supporting documents to Suppliers
- Updates/confirms system lead times, delivery dates, and pricing
- Ensures orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts; reports non-conformances
- Evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, and availability
- Studies purchase history and forecast, inventory levels and replenishment cycles
- Procures items specified by other departments using the Purchase Order Requisition Procedure
- Ensures on-time delivery
Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure legal compliance with state, federal and OSHA requirements
- Ensure ISO procedures are followed
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Integrated Management System (IMS)
Within his/her scope of responsibility, he/she respects the standards and rules in terms of Quality, Safety and Environment contributing to the IMS process management and improvement
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Personal Background
- High School Diploma and a minimum of two years of purchasing experience with a project management background
- Intermediate MS Office suite skill level (High level of Excel is a must)
- Streamlined attitude towards project completion, cost savings initiatives, proper inventory levels, and sourcing and maintaining high quality suppliers
- Knowledge of SAP is preferred
