Site Paint Professional – Gliwice, Poland
Job description
The candidate will join OPmobility’s Industrial Team to strengthen our robotic paint application expertise across multiple plants. This role is essential to support paint robot refurbishment plans, optimize paint application processes, and contribute to the development of new robotic paint lines within the automotive plastic parts business.
The V.I.E Paint Robotics Application Engineer will lead and support industrial projects related to paint robotics, ensuring the performance, quality, and reliability of robotic paint application systems. He/She will work closely with plants, project teams, and equipment suppliers to optimize paint application parameters, robot programming, and process performance.
1. Leadership of Robotics Paint Industrial Projects
- Lead industrial projects involving paint robot refurbishment or the commissioning of new robotic paint lines.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers (Dürr, ABB, FANUC) and plant teams to secure project milestones.
2. Commissioning & Paint Application Performance
- Ensure the correct commissioning of paint application and robotic systems together with the plant and suppliers.
- Validate that quality and performance levels meet OPmobility and customer standards.
3. Support to OEE & Scrap Convergence
- Support plants in improving OEE, reducing scrap, and stabilizing paint application quality.
- Manage optimization projects such as path programming improvements, defect reduction, and parameter tuning.
4. Productivity Improvement Projects
- Lead productivity initiatives such as:
- Testing and validating new sprayers,
- Improving paint transfer efficiency,
- Optimizing cycle times,
- Reducing paint consumption.
- Document results and ensure knowledge sharing across sites.
5. Digitalization & Advanced Paint Application Tools
- Lead digitalization activities related to paint application, including:
- Paint application simulations,
- Brush characterization,
- Offline path programming (DXQ3DOnSite, RoboGuide, RobotStudio, etc.).
- Support deployment of digital tools in plants.
6. Definition of Paint Application Standards
- Define, develop, and optimize paint application parameters based on customer specifications and equipment capabilities.
- Contribute to the creation of technical standards and training materials to reinforce internal expertise.
7. Path Programming for New Parts
- Create and optimize robot path programming either on CAD or directly on robots, in accordance with application rules.
- Support program transfers, updates, and tuning.
8. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Support plants in troubleshooting issues on robotic paint stations, ensuring fast, structured problem solving and sustainable solutions.
Profile
You are a Bachelor’s or Master’s graduate in Engineering, or you have equivalent experience in paint robotics for automotive plastic parts. You possess experience with Dürr, ABB, or FANUC paint robots, and you are capable of developing robotic projects using DXQ3DOnSite, Roboguide, or RobotStudio.
You demonstrate natural leadership and feel confident coordinating technical activities across suppliers, plants, and project teams. You are organized, autonomous, and rigorous in your work, with strong analytical abilities and a structured approach to problem solving.
You enjoy hands‑on work and are comfortable working on robot programming, path optimization, and paint application tuning. You are curious, motivated, and eager to deepen your expertise in advanced robotic paint technologies and digital tools.
You thrive in a multicultural environment, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, and adapt easily to new contexts. With your proactive mindset and technical passion, you are ready to contribute to OPmobility’s global robotic paint application excellence.
You are fluent in English, another language would be a plus
