Site Injection Professional – Greer & Toledo, USA
Job description
OPmobility is launching a new greenfield plant in Toledo, close to Detroit, dedicated to the production of bumpers and tailgates for major automotive customers.
To prepare for this strategic start‑up, the V.I.E will begin the mission with an initial training and onboarding period in our Greer plant (South Carolina). This immersion will allow them to understand OPmobility processes, assembly technologies, and plant standards before joining the Toledo launch team.
The V.I.E Injection Engineer will be responsible for the development, installation, validation, and ramp‑up of injection equipment for the new Toledo plant. They will ensure that all equipment meets OPmobility’s expectations in terms of safety, quality, performance, and robustness, and will support a smooth and documented handover to the operational teams.
Missions
1. Equipment Implementation & Ramp‑Up
- Follow the implementation, installation, and start‑up of new IMMs, robots, central feeding systems, and thermolators.
- Monitor ramp‑up progress and contribute to achieving target cycle times, availability, and quality levels.
- Support debugging, optimization, and performance stabilization.
2. Equipment Conformity & Validation
- Verify equipment conformity based on OPmobility specifications (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, safety).
- Drive equipment performance validation through structured protocols (FAT, SAT, capability studies, run‑at‑rate).
- Document results and compliance status, ensuring complete readiness before handover.
3. Handover to Operational Teams
- Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality to secure a smooth transition to daily operations.
- Provide technical support, documentation, and training when necessary.
- Ensure operational teams receive equipment at the right performance and quality levels.
4. Methodology & Project Governance
- Apply OPTIPRO work‑package methodologies across all project stages.
- Contribute to risk assessments, action plans, and structured project reviews.
- Track progress and escalate issues when required.
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure strict compliance with OPmobility HSE standards during all installation and commissioning activities.
- Monitor suppliers’ interventions on site and guarantee safe working conditions.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks linked to new equipment introduction.
Profile
You are a Plasturgy or Chemistry Engineer with a strong technical foundation and a real interest in industrial processes and equipment. You work rigorously and in a structured manner, and you feel comfortable operating within a matrix organization, collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders.
You can manage and coordinate suppliers, ensuring that technical requirements, safety standards, and deadlines are met throughout equipment development and installation.
You are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, and you ideally have experience with AutoCAD and Moldflow, which will support your understanding of injection processes and tooling.
You have solid analytical skills and enjoy troubleshooting, optimizing equipment, and supporting industrial performance. You are proactive, hands‑on, and able to work autonomously while maintaining clear communication with the wider team.
Curious, adaptable, and motivated, you are ready to contribute to a plant undergoing significant equipment implementation and process improvements.
You are fluent in English, Spanish would be a plus
