MISSION
Located in Normal, IL, the mission of the SILS Plant Manager position is to oversee and optimize the daily operations of the plant, ensuring efficient production processes and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role involves leading and developing a team, managing resources, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence. The Plant Manager is also responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation to drive the plant's success.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Ensures compliance with Corporate and Business Group SHE objectives and requirements
- Lead in the application of the IMS Policy and ensures that it is compatible with the business strategy
- Establish the Site Objectives and support in the compliance with obligations as legal and Corporate requirements.
- Define the strategy and leadership by assign the necessary human, material, financial, and informational resources to ensure compliance with ISO 50001
- Assign resources related to the maintenance of the IMS and outlined with Objectives defined by Site Management and KPIs from Corporate.
- Responsible for the assurance of actions for the prevention of fires and environmental impacts through the IMS, have a leading role in the decision-making as part of crisis management team.
- Deploys effective problem-solving process in all levels of the organization
- Delivers the site budget
- Leads by example, communicates openly, cascades down Business Group objectives and policies (including safety, industrial, HR policies)
- Manages the team (organization, objectives, discipline and mindset, people development) according to department and projects requirements
- Maintains good relationships with local authorities and the community
- Implements the production plan
- Leads the management team; this position is committed to directing and supporting roles or key positions that contribute to the effectiveness of the IMS
- Maintains and improve the competitiveness of the site through the effective deployment of the IPI standards
- Manages the progress plan
- Meets the customer quality standards
- This position has the authority and responsibility to stop any process that endangers the safety or health of personnel, significant impacts on the environment, as well as the quality of the product that affect our customers, ensuring that the corresponding procedures are followed within the IMS
COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Management or other related filed required
- Significant experience as a people manager and previous experience in managing a department in a plant
- Customer oriented
- Ability to represent the company with a deep understanding of the organization
- Demonstrated strong leadership abilities, including planning and active listening
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and all levels of the organization
- Fluent in English language
