Main Mission:
- The Waste Treatment Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of wastewater treatment systems, sludge collection systems, reverse osmosis (RO) systems, and industrial washer systems within the facility. This role ensures proper chemical feed control, regulatory compliance, equipment functionality, and environmental performance across multiple production areas (PP1 & PP2).
Job Responsibilities:
• Inspect all Air Handling Units (AHUs), submit PPCMs, and maintain updated documentation.
• Perform chemical drawdowns using manometers; record pump settings and feed rates.
• Monitor and adjust chemical feeds including: Detackifier, Flocculant (anionic & cationic), Defoamer, Caustic.
• Measure and record pH levels in all sludge systems.
• Conduct chemical tote and drum changeouts as needed.
• Weigh and document all incoming chemicals.
• Organize, manage, and order chemical inventory.
• Maintain inventory of dewatering bags, filter media, drums, and totes.
• Perform and record Stage 1 chemical titrations.
• Monitor washer soap feed systems and change totes as needed.
• Record tank temperatures and conductivity across all washer stages.
• Monitor Stage 5 direct feed halo (weekly).
• Inspect and record filter differential pressures.
• Change water bags and maintain washer filter inventory.
• Monitor discharge pressure and backflow to maintain water balance.
• Inspect washer tanks for proper cascade, slime, and bacteria.
• Monitor bacteria levels in all stages.
• Dose tanks with biocide/bleach before weekend shutdowns.
• Dose Stage 1 washer soap prior to startup for proper acid concentration.
• Perform full washer boil-outs during scheduled plant shutdowns (e.g., Christmas/July).
Desired Profile:
• Experience in industrial wastewater treatment or chemical process operations preferred.
• Knowledge of chemical feed systems, pumps, and process controls.
• Ability to perform lab testing and interpret water quality data.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lift and handle chemical containers and sludge materials.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and 5S standards.
• Requires standing, lifting, climbing, and confined space awareness.
• Exposure to chemicals, wastewater systems, and mechanical equipment.
• Lifting and carrying (up to 50lbs, without assistance)
