SITE PAINT OPERATOR - WATER TREATMENT

Contract Details :

  • Job Title : SITE PAINT OPERATOR - WATER TREATMENT
  • Type of contract : Long-term At-will
  • Expected Hiring Date : ASAP
  • Scope : 2nd Shift

 

Responsibilities :

  • System Monitoring & Chemical Control (PP1 & PP2)
    • Inspect all Air Handling Units (AHUs), submit PPCMs, and maintain updated documentation.
    • Perform chemical drawdowns using manometers; record pump settings and feed rates.
    • Monitor and adjust chemical feeds including:
      • Detackifier
      • Flocculant (anionic & cationic)
      • Defoamer
      • Caustic
    • Measure and record pH levels in all sludge systems.
    • Conduct chemical tote and drum changeouts as needed.
    • Weigh and document all incoming chemicals.
    • Organize, manage, and order chemical inventory.
    • Maintain inventory of dewatering bags, filter media, drums, and totes.
  • Water Quality Testing & Reporting
    • Collect water samples from all systems and perform and record KPIs including:
      • TSS, TDS, Conductivity, Percent Solids, Aerobic Biological Activity, pH, Bag Collection data
    • Maintain accurate logbooks and display performance metrics.
    • Perform jar testing and adjust chemical feeds based on findings.
    • Monitor system stability to prevent process upsets.
  • Sludge & Tank Management
    • Monitor sludge systems (Prime, Basecoat(s), Clearcoat).
    • Inspect tanks for sludge bridging and ensure weirs and floats function properly.
    • Break up and remove bridged sludge as required.
    • Maintain proper tank water levels to optimize sludge collection.
    • Change dewatering bags/hoppers, weigh sludge, and transport to roll-off.
    • Remove floating sludge (weekend duties).
    • Inspect and clean pit depositions and screens.
    • Monitor foam levels and airflow in Palin units.
    • Inspect scraper blades and report damage.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Support
    • Calibrate and maintain chemical feed pumps and make-down units.
    • Flush chemical lines and pumps as required.
    • Repair chemical pumps and lines when necessary.
    • Maintain lab equipment and titration supplies.
    • Monitor RO and neutralization systems; notify maintenance of alarms.
    • Maintain 5S standards in RO and Osmosis rooms.
    • Provide troubleshooting support to Maintenance and Engineering.
  • Frac Tank & Osmosis Operations
    • Pump water into frac tank as needed and monitor/report levels.
    • Pump out frac containment when required.
    • Complete required paperwork when frac tank is serviced.
    • Clean spills and remove sludge debris from Osmosis and basement areas.
  • Washer System Responsibilities
    • Perform and record Stage 1 chemical titrations.
    • Monitor washer soap feed systems and change totes as needed.
    • Record tank temperatures and conductivity across all washer stages.
    • Monitor Stage 5 direct feed halo (weekly).
    • Inspect and record filter differential pressures.
    • Change water bags and maintain washer filter inventory.
    • Monitor discharge pressure and backflow to maintain water balance.
    • Inspect washer tanks for proper cascade, slime, and bacteria.
    • Monitor bacteria levels in all stages.
    • Dose tanks with biocide/bleach before weekend shutdowns.
    • Dose Stage 1 washer soap prior to startup for proper acid concentration.
    • Perform full washer boil-outs during scheduled plant shutdowns (e.g., Christmas/July).
  • Weekend & Shutdown Duties
    • Dose systems with biocide as required.
    • Remove floating sludge from tanks.
    • Turn chemical pumps off before weekend downtime and restart after.
    • Perform pit inspections (PP2 – weekend only).

Ideal Candidate Profile :

  • Experience in industrial wastewater treatment or chemical process operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemical feed systems, pumps, and process controls.
  • Ability to perform lab testing and interpret water quality data.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift and handle chemical containers and sludge materials.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and 5S standards.
  • Able to write and perform basic math functions.
  • Able to read and understand graphs and gages
  • Must be clean shaven if respiratory qualified
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs without assistance.
