Electrical safety officer

  • Mission
    The electrical safety manager, in accordance with South Korea's Electrical Safety Management Code, is responsible for safety management tasks related to the maintenance and operation of electrical facilities. He or she adheres to safety procedures and regulations to minimize the risk of electrical accidents, conduct regular system inspections and maintenance to prevent accidents. Additionally, in the event of an electrical safety incident, he or she investigates and responds to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
  • Primary Responsibilities
    Performing tasks related to electrical facility construction, maintenance, and operation, as well as conducting safety training:

    • Handling responsibilities related to electrical facility construction, maintenance, and operation, including safety training.
    • Conducting guided training necessary for responding to electrical accidents when they occur.

    Safety management for the operation and control of electrical facilities involves several key responsibilities:

    • Supervising the operation, control, and oversight of electrical facilities.
    • Developing safety management regulations that incorporate measurement intervals and test items specific to the electrical facilities. This includes creating an annual inspection plan and conducting regular inspections based on these regulations.
    • Documenting and preserving records related to electrical safety management.
    • Applying for construction plan approvals and reviewing necessary documents.
    • Managing and supervising outsourced electrical safety construction work, including oversight responsibilities.

    Response to statutory periodic inspections involves the following tasks:

    • Establishing schedules for regular inspections and ensuring compliance with them.
    • Taking corrective actions promptly in case of identified deficiencies or non-compliance issues.

    Responding to power supply crises involves:

    • Checking and assessing the efficiency of electrical usage.
    • Implementing measures to control and optimize electrical usage.

    Preventing electrical accidents and emergency measures involve several important steps:

    • Establishing an emergency contact network to prepare for emergencies.
    • Implementing emergency measures for electrical accidents and effectively managing them.
    • Reporting major accidents promptly and appropriately.
    • Implementing measures to prevent recurrence of accidents.
    • Managing personal protective equipment (PPE) related to electrical safety.
