The role of Project Buyer is based in our plant in Győr, Hungary.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and select suppliers for new programs in alignment with company strategy and customer requirements, identify potential supply risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Lead Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes and analyze supplier quotes
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to meet project budget targets, support cost-down initiatives during the project life cycle
- Act as the purchasing lead on cross-functional project teams (engineering, quality, logistics, etc.)
- Ensure timely sourcing decisions to support project milestones and customer deliverables
- Ensure suppliers meet delivery and ramp-up expectations
- Maintain accurate project purchasing documentation (contracts, change orders, timelines)
- Monitor and manage supplier performance during the development phase
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments (engineering, quality, logistics)
Requirements:
- University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (nice to have)
- 3–5 years in automotive purchasing or project buying, ideally in a Tier 1 environment, understanding of manufacturing and automotive supply chain dynamics
- Knowledge of automotive quality and compliance standards (IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP) is an asset
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and MS Office (advanced Excel user)
- Fluent in English (additional language is a plus)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Project management and multitasking abilities
