Indirect Software Buyer

In this role, you will be responsible for managing purchasing activities within the Software and Artificial Intelligence category. You will define supplier strategies, lead sourcing processes and negotiate with suppliers to support business needs in terms of quality, cost and delivery.

 

You will work closely with internal stakeholdersa and external suppliers, ensuring that purchasing activities are aligned with company procedures, ethical standards and business objectives. This role combines strategic purchasing, supplier relationship management, cost optimisation and hands-on execution of the sourcing process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage purchasing strategies for the Software and Artificial Intelligence supplier portfolio, including market analysis, benchmarking, supplier mapping and innovation trends.
  • Lead sourcing processes according to plant and project needs, in line with company procedures, ethical purchasing rules and quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiations and contracts, ensuring alignment with company purchasing policies and business expectations.
  • Oversee the purchase order to payment process procure to pay process, including spending authorization checks, order and contract setup, and follow-up on agreed payment terms.
  • Monitor and report supplier performance, including productivity, invoicing accuracy, supply base management and delivery of agreed conditions.
  • Identify and promote cost-saving opportunities, including technical savings proposed by suppliers or internal working groups.
  • Manage risks within the category, including supplier financial health, mergers and acquisitions, dependency risks and potential supply issues.
  • Support or lead supplier-related problem-solving activities, including crisis management when required.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Buyer, with experience in software (subscription, perpetual, SaaS, enterprise agreements etc.) purchasing in an international environment.
  • Proven track record in leading complex negotiations and Request for Proposal processes, with measurable savings delivered.
  • Strong ability to challenge vendors while building effective, long-term supplier relationships.
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships and influence stakeholders across different functions.
  • Fluent English; French would be an advantage.
