About the Role
As a Project Buyer Electronics, you will lead purchasing activities for Battery Management Systems (BMS), PCB/PCBA, electronic components, and Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle. Partnering closely with Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while managing supplier performance and supply chain risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute sourcing strategies for BMS, PCB/PCBA, EMS, and electronic components within new product development projects.
- Lead supplier selection, RFQs, negotiations, and nomination processes to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Manage supplier involvement from concept, prototyping, and validation through industrialization and mass production.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and design-to-cost initiatives in collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Select, negotiate, and manage EMS partners, ensuring clear allocation of responsibilities, contractual compliance, and operational excellence.
- Monitor supplier and EMS performance, supporting continuous improvement and industrial readiness.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including component shortages, obsolescence, capacity constraints, and market volatility.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to ensure successful project execution and milestone achievement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Purchasing, Engineering, Electronics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience in Project Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, or Electronics Procurement within automotive, industrial electronics, energy storage, or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of BMS, PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes, EMS management, and electronics supply chains.
- Proven experience in supplier management, commercial negotiations, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, international project environment.
- Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
