Purchasing Supplier Quality Engineer

We are looking for a strategic and quality-focused Purchasing Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing a robust supplier base, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving continuous improvement. Your Responsibilities:

  • Apply and enforce global supplier quality procedures internally and externally.
  • Qualify and validate supplier processes and components in line with APQP and PPAP.
  • Conduct audits (e.g., VDA 6.3, Run@Rate) and support supplier selection with Purchasing.
  • Manage supplier-related quality issues up to 6 months post-SOP, driving problem-solving and performance improvement.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and supplier development programs.
  • Identify and escalate risks through audits and on-site evaluations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Legal, Finance, and Development teams.
 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years in automotive Supplier Quality Management.
  • Strong audit experience and knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and core tools (8D, PPAP, APQP, FMEA).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English;
  • Willingness to travel regionally and globally.
