LAB TRAINEE
MISSION
The Lab Technician Trainee is responsible to complete testing assignments and provide quality data to requestors.
Work performed in a fast-paced environment within tight time constraints.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Reviews and understands requested work for content, quality and accuracy.
- Must work with the Development / lab Manager or Validation Engineer to maintain the inventory associated with a given job in accordance with departmental inventory procedures.
- Verifies that the equipment chosen for testing is in calibration or conducts a suitable verification procedure on the equipment according to department procedures prior to testing.
- Schedules tests and keeps test requestor, Validation Engineer and supervisor informed of progress in order to meet customer requested timing.
- Completes testing assignments in accordance with work request instructions under direct supervision by the Lab Supervisor.Collects and stores all data associated with a given test in accordance to departmental procedures.
- Prepares clear written lab reports using appropriate photographs, charts, graphs and templates.
- Must comply will all current 5S standards for maintaining clean workstations and an organized work environment.
- Assists in the training of new employees.
- Complies with quality system procedures.
- Checks for reproducibility, accuracy, and precision of data.Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
- Must successfully complete all Plastic Omnium required training.
- Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures.
- Must comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Provides support to other positions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
PROFILE
Personal Background
- Associate of Science or Engineering
- Electrical, electronic, or mechatronics engineering as a plus
- English Intermediate
Job Technical skills
- Hands on experience building or using test equipment is preferred
- Basic Knowledge of TS-16949 & ISO 17025 procedures.
- Ability to present technical data clearly using charts and graphs.
- Ability to identify and resolve routine problems.
- Computer proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook,).
- Ability to read and understand measurements and scales.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to write lab reports.
- Basic ability to navigate Internet and Intranet software packages.
- Ability to maintain working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Must be flexible, dependable and creative.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills (English required).
- Ability to collect, maintain and analyze data.
- Must be able to manage time independently and work with team members to determine priorities.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including algebra & trigonometry
