The Global IS/IT Projects & Portfolio Manager proactively and holistically helps guide the enterprise through transformation initiatives, maximizing value delivery.
Job Overview
- Act as value creation advocate, working closely with Value Towers Contributors on key business drivers. Coach and equip Value Towers teams to have compelling value conversations. Be the responsible person for Value calculation processes and tooling.
- Steward investment decisions, ensuring value-driven prioritization of Digital & IS projects and continuous tracking of project portfolio.
- Manage project portfolio and monitor Portfolio Performance through appropriate governance mechanisms. Develop progressively Agile Portfolio Management Maturity as the enterprise adopts Agile delivery Methods.
- Improve capabilities to manage and execute portfolios of initiatives and programs to enhance organizational responsiveness
Primary Responsibilities and Activities
1) Value Tracking
- Define framework and tracking methodologies to define projects value.
- Support domain Value Towers and product teams to evaluate initiatives.
- Ensure consistent application and use of value valuation grid.
- Define and track transformation success KPIs (e.g., Business NPS)
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure there is a continual process for refining and expanding the business case content and library.
2) Portfolio Management
- Define process and tools for optimum Project Portfolio Management. Facilitates among the PMO community and Digital & IS leadership a consensus around the mission and vision of the ‘Agile Portfolio Management’ (APM) to foster an agile oriented portfolio mindset.
- Consolidate global and integrated initiative pipeline ensuring transparency and visibility.
- Make go / no-go decisions for initiatives based on pre-define checklists and criteria.
- Orchestrate governance to monitor initiative progress.
- Tracks and communicates key Portfolio metrics
Primary Work Arrangements
- This position reports to the Director of Digital Transformation Office.
- Direct or functional reports to this position may include Value Tower Performance, Portfolio Leaders
- This position works closely with Domain CIOs, Division CIOs, Cyber-security Director, Chief technology Officer as well as Chief Entreprise Architect.
Background and soft skills
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering or computer science, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of experience in digital transformation
- Fluent English
- Excellent soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management.
- Demonstrated experience in managing Portfolio in complex environment as well as mastering Program/Project metholodies. Ideally Project Management Institute Certification (PMP, PgMP, PfMP, ACP, DAC, etc.)
- Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
- Organizationally savvy and understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics.
- Balance the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions and organization goals.
- Understand and speak the language of the business.
- Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
