The Legal Counsel is a junior-level counsel and reports directly to a Group Legal Director in the Group Legal Operations Team of OPmobility.

 

Under the supervision of the Legal Director, the Legal Counsel:

  • Assist Sales, Purchasing, R&D/R&I, in the drafting, revising, and negotiating contracts with automotive/truck/train/bus customers, suppliers (raw material, components, tooling, services, logistic, capex) & partners (consortium, partnership…)
  • Contributes to the overview of any legal operational issues arising in all sites of the OPmobility’s Business Group concerned
  • Assist in a way that OPmobility operates within the law at all times
  • Facilitate business strategies development by providing options and clarity under the law
  • Limit legal and contractual risk exposure

 

MISSIONS

 

Under the supervision of the Group Legal Director, the main missions are:

 

  •  Address in French and English legal and contractual risks within the EMEA Business Units of OPmobility’s Business Groups covering all the traditional areas of the function of a Legal Counsel:
    • Contracts in French & English (Sales), Partnerships, Supply (Production Component and Raw Material suppliers, Specific Tooling and Capacity-tooling suppliers, non-production goods and services suppliers, etc.) ;
    • Advise and recommendation on matters related to Product liability - Competition Law - Intellectual Property - Litigation & Dispute Resolution - Bankruptcy Laws

 

  • Position yourself as a Business Partner among the Business Groups in order to contribute to the strategic objectives and decisions, by providing high-quality, proactive, business-oriented legal support

 

  •  Assist proactively in the implementation of the legal documentation, in monitoring internal policies and in the development of legal awareness within the OPmobility’s Business Groups
    • Review and draft standard documents, templates & internal policies in French and English
    • Define and conduct training in French and English in order to implement internal policies and develop legal awareness in the OPmobility’s Business Groups;
    • Develop and continuously improve knowledge and expertise in key areas of law that are central to the achievement OPmobility’s strategy.

 

  •    Team spirit and project management:
    • Interact constantly as a team player with the reporting Group Legal Director and the Legal Operations Team to be fully aligned with the OPmobility’s Business Groups and the Group Legal Department strategy.
    • Visit the plants and local offices of the OPmobility’s Business Groups in the EMEA region in order to ensure strong connection with the legal function
    • Analyze the tools at the disposal of the business stakeholders and propose updates, improvements and new tools (templates, memos, trainings…)

 

PROFILE

 

    • Master’s degree in law. French legal education, additional foreign education is a plus.
    • 1-3 years of experience in a law firm or in the legal department of an international company of the industrial sector in legal operations matters.
    • Experience in France. Experience abroad would be a plus.
    • Fluency in both English and French, verbally & in writing. Knowledge of an additional language would be a plus.
    • Highly organized self-starter with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment to balance multiple priorities and possess high accountability to deadlines and results
    • Understanding and exposure to a multi-cultural working environment
    • High integrity & ethical values
    • Excellent communication skills, able to synthesize complexity and communicate concisely
    • Acquisition of “Business” and strategic mindset and negotiator
