Role Overview

The Mechatronics Components Engineer is responsible for the development, validation, and integration of plastic mechatronic components for OPmobility C‑Power systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with supplier management, technology scouting, and end‑to‑product industrialization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct benchmarking and supplier technology screening.
  • End‑to‑end development and validation of plastic components.
  • Requirements management and design‑to‑cost implementation.
  • Technical specifications, test analysis and risk/quality management.
  • Support RFI/RFQ processes, develop strong partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Smooth transfer to mass production and internal knowledge development.

 

Required profile:

  • MS/PhD in Mechanics or Material Science.
  • Fluent English for technical communication; French or German is an advantage.
  • Understanding of industrial processes (injection, moulding, overmoulding welding plastic parts).
  • Solid familiarity with tools used for molding of plastic parts.
  • Proficiency with DFMEA, FTA, 8D, SPC, and structured problem‑solving methods.
  • High initiative and ownership mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate across teams and suppliers.
