MISSION
- Specify and validate the production equipment designs. Follow the construction of production equipment within the project timing and budget.
- Carry out the acceptance of the equipment at the supplier site and at the PO factory.
- Propose and implementing reliable innovations in machine design to improve performance, cost and robustness
- Train and develop new suppliers to PO internal requirements and standards
- Provide support to the factories and share know-how
Responsibilities & Activities
Activity 1: Development of new resources and processes up to on-site start-up
- Act as the machinery project leader in front of the suppliers, industrial engineers and production sites
- Draft the machine specifications, participate in technical and economic negotiations of supplier offers with the buyer
- Carry out the launch, QCD management of the machine project within the supplier timing. Anticipate risks, control progress, assess the supplier's workload. Reduce drifts, modifications and amendments. Work as a team with the automation engineer, the plant and the project team.
- Validate the proposed solutions, technically supporting the supplier, ensuring compliance with the machine specification, the design guidelines and the PO standards
- Carry out the provisional acceptance at the supplier's (Machine performance, R&R, Run-off, check-list, balance of the action plan), and the final acceptance on site
- Support process development, production of first parts, R@R with the industrial engineer and the plant team members.
Activity 2: continuous improvement, capitalization of know-how, standardization and innovation.
- Capitalize know-how, formalize issues, countermeasures and feedback
- Create and update the standards, generic specifications and design guidelines
- Participated in failure analysis, 8D, quality and safety
- Complete the training modules
- Propose, study and validate innovations on projects under development
- Keeping a technology watch on suppliers and at trade fairs
Activity 3: Supplier development and training
- Communicate PO standards to suppliers and ensure that OP requirements are understood
- Ensure technology transfer to suppliers in a manner most appropriate to their needs
- Use training materials, design guidelines and specification in their development
- Assess supplier performance in terms of technical execution and project management.
Activity 4: Plant support
- Provide support to factories in the event of poor performance, after-sales service or inadequate response times from suppliers
- Carry out debugging and process improvement actions on request (improvement of new equipment, modification of machines in serial production, etc.)
- Provide maintenance support in the event of major issue in the factory
- Conduct training for factories on the use of new machines or innovative processes
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Personal Background
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial automation
- 5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing functions. Automotive preferred
- Experience in battery pack assembly industrialization preferred
- English level B1
- Office tools
Job Technical skills
- Technical knowledge of automation, mechanics, electricity, CE requirements and machine conformity
- Operational management of projects
- Proven experience of special machine development in high volume, highly automated serial production
- Technical mastery of industrial processes and standards (machine design, errorproofing, process control)
- Problem solving tools (8D), Machine FMEA and DFM/A methods
- Knowledge of Ergonomics, lean manufacturing principles. Understanding of process capability
- Monitoring of changes
