As a Component Design Engineer, you will lead the development and integration of the system for emission control and battery systems. Benchmark suppliers and technologies for mechatronic components in challenging environments. Ensure compliance with system requirements, cost optimization, and smooth transfer from R&D to mass production.
Responsibilities:
- Choose material definition (mainly alluminium) based on customer specification and application.
- Define the manufacturing technologies eg. (drilling, machining, welding esp. alluminium).
- Develop specifications and validate design/process integration.
- Optimize BOM and ensure design-to-cost compliance.
- Support partnerships with suppliers, universities, and research labs.
- Manage technology at supplier side and contribute to product launch.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechatronics or Material Science (metallurgy will be an advantage).
- Expertise in materials and industrial processes (esp. alluminium).
- Knowledge of GD&T standards, DFMEA, problem-solving tools.
- Fluent English (French/German is a plus).
- Good interpersonal relationships, strong organizational skills, efficiency management & communication.
- High level of initiative.
- Two years in R&D will be an asset.
