Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQDE)

Responsibilities:
- Support and coordinate supplier quality development activities from prototype phase through PPAP approval and SOP + 6 months.
- Drive APQP and PPAP processes with suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Conduct supplier assessments, process audits, and risk evaluations during sourcing and development phases.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement actions to support quality, delivery, and cost optimization.
- Coordinate supplier readiness for production launch and manage handovers to manufacturing plants.
- Review and validate PPAP documentation, samples, and project quality milestones.
- Identify risks, escalate issues, and drive corrective action plans with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Supplier Development teams to ensure successful project execution.
Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, technical, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, supplier audits, and quality tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T principles.
- Familiarity with MSA, statistical analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Quality certifications (CQE, CQA) are considered an advantage.
- Willingness to travel.
