Main Responsibilities 

 

  • Support design and realization of manufacturing equipment (injection molding, painting, assembly, among others) according to customer requirements, project specifications (costs, timing, quality), assembly standards/best practices and HSE/ergonomics requirements for the North America Exteriors & Lighting business group.
  • Seeking breakthrough initiatives on Robotic, PLC and vision systems: Identify new technologies and functions, analyze market and technology trends, benchmark serial products and technologies.
  • Contribute to robotic network activities linked to central roadmap.
  • Support operations in case of major or new issue on processes/equipment on Vision, PLC (Programable Logic Controller)/ HMI (Human Machine Interface program) Robotic equipment, including: automation audit on equipment/cell, supplier tracking, program adjustments during tuning phase/retrofit/re-use, participate in operations productivity workshops.
  • Validate technical feasibility of Vision PLC & Robotics solutions.
  • Support the definition of equipment specifications & supplier sourcing.
  • Perform in-house programming tasks on PLC HMI Robots and OT/IT devices.
  • Participates in equipment handover to the plant (performance convergence, training for plant team).
  • Participates in technical knowledge improvement of manufacturing technologies domain and in lessons learnt for projects under his/her responsibility. 
  • Ensures consistent knowledge sharing and transfer by participating in assembly/automation networks.
  • Establishes technical and economic analysis of suppliers’ offers, together with purchasing department, to select the best solution.
  • Supports the Design and the realization of manufacturing equipment. 
  • Realizes functional specifications regarding project elements and standard elements.
  • Validates equipment study (Including supervision of FMEA), ergonomics study and the choice of possible solutions 
  • Updates/adapts former feasibility study and technical choices if needed (Perimeter changes).
  • Validates equipment in supplier workshop, fine tune the equipment in the plant and ensure smooth transfer to plant team.
  • Ensures the tuning of the equipment is properly done following instructions given by EPM/MPM, to converge to the product conformity, 
  • Validates necessary documentation for each equipment.
  • Analyses results of actions plan, of validation plan and risk plans.
  • Participate in capability validation for each equipment.
  • Participate in lessons learned activities, productivity project in the assembly department.

 

Profile Requirements

 

  • 5+ years of experience as Robotic or PLC specialist
  • Knowledge of SIEMENS PLC and FANUC ROBOT
  • Project management skills
  • Fluent English required
  • Leadership, able to make clear synthesis, organized, rigorous, team player
  • Ability to make decision and asses technical solution on his field
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize
  • Communication capability skills towards all management levels
  • Pedagogical skills
