RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

•    Provide engineering design, development and production support for new exterior automotive lighting products in order to meet program timing and cost objectives
•    Maintain open lines of communication with external customer, internal project team and suppliers
•    Capture customer requirements for lamp electronics, LED Arrays, LED Electronics

 •    Provide detailed design of electrical circuit schematic in PO Lighting tools based on design library or design new circuits as needed by working with design team.  Circuits may include LED driver modules, headlamp control modules, LED matrix drivers, DC/DC-SMPS, microcontrollers and LED arrays
•    Circuit modeling, Worst Case Circuit Analysis and LED knowledge
•    Work with MCAD and ECAD engineers to ensure high quality circuit board and harness designs
•    Support electronics testing and validation to ensure design meets PO Lighting and OEM requirements 
•    Act as single point of contact for all electrical related topics for assigned projects and maintain documentation to PO Lighting processes
•    Work with electronic manufacturing suppliers (EMS) or in-house facilities for manufacture of electronics 
•    Work with electronics component engineering and purchasing to create new parts in PO Lighting database for new circuits
•    Develop DVP&R, DFMEA, design rules, new component selection, support test plan development.

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT(S):

 

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, M.S. in EE preferred or higher

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):

 

•    Minimum 5 years of automotive electronics design, development and launch experience
•    Working level knowledge of modeling electronic circuits using simulation tools such as PSpice, LabView, LTSpice, Matlab.
•    Fluent in the use of electronic schematic capture tool Altium. •    Familiar or knowledge of engineering tools such as Teamcenter, DOORS NG, Vector CANoe
•    Design of Power Electronics: Switching Mode Power Supplies (SMPS), DC-DC converters, Linear regulators in automotive environment
•    Familiar with LIN / CAN communication
•    Familiar with embedded systems like microcontrollers
•    Knowledge of environmental and EMC testing methods
•    Strong data analysis and problem solving skills
•    Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary group of Optical, Mechanical and Electronics Engineers
•    Computer skills using standard business software
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Ability to function in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and handle multiple priorities
