Plant HR Manager
Position Overview
The Plant HR Manager is responsible for leading all human resources activities within the manufacturing plant, ensuring compliance with Mexican labor laws, supporting operational goals, and fostering a positive, high‑performance work environment. This role partners closely with plant leadership to drive workforce planning, employee relations, talent development, and HR operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Strategy & Leadership: Partner with plant leadership to align HR initiatives with operational and business objectives.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, ensuring fair and consistent resolution aligned with company policies and Mexican labor regulations.
- Labor Law Compliance: Ensure full compliance with LFT (Ley Federal del Trabajo), IMSS, INFONAVIT, and other statutory requirements.
- Recruitment & Staffing: Lead hiring efforts for plant positions, including hourly, technical, and salaried roles; manage onboarding and workforce planning.
- Performance Management: Support managers in goal‑setting, coaching, performance reviews, and corrective action processes.
- Training & Development: Identify skill gaps and coordinate training programs to support employee growth and operational needs.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee payroll inputs, attendance, benefits administration, and compliance with local compensation practices.
- Health, Safety & Environment Support: Partner with HSE teams to reinforce safety culture, incident reporting, and compliance.
- HR Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyze key HR indicators (turnover, absenteeism, overtime, staffing levels) and recommend improvements.
- Culture & Engagement: Lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, communication, and workplace culture.
- Union Relations (if applicable): Maintain constructive relationships with union representatives and support contract administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican labor law and government compliance requirements.
- Experience managing HR in a plant setting with hourly and salaried populations.
- Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience with HRIS systems and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
