As a Technical Project Leader you are responsible for our Exterior plastic parts from concept to serial production, ensuring Quality, Cost, and Timing (QCT). This position can be located in Munich, Weissenburg or Sterbfritz.
Responsibilities:
- Act as main technical interface with customers and serial production side throughout the project development
- Analyze customer needs (OEM) and define product specifications and design concepts (GD&T, feasibility)
- Manage design for manufacturing (Injection, Paint and assembly, plant constraints, packaging)
- Animate risk analysis (DFMEA) and design reviews
- Define, develop, and validate tooling (injection molds and test equipment)
- Manage product validation (functional, geometrical, and cosmetic)
- Lead product and tooling tuning phases to achieve performance and quality targets
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (design, validation, tooling, material)
- Define engineering scope (SOW), planning and deliverables
- Manage project reviews, track actions, and ensure milestone achievement
- Participate in feasibility studies and development milestones
- Monitor development budget (hours, costs) and support cost optimization through design
- Manage scope change impacts for Cost and timing
- Drive industrialization transition and ensure smooth production in plant
- Troubleshoot technical issues during trials and production ramp-up
- Maintain and update technical documentation and data-bases
- Capitalize on lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Competencies & Requirements :
- Master’s degree in mechanical or plastics Engineering
- 5–10 years’ experience in plastic parts development (automotive)
- Strong knowledge of plastic design, injection molding, material, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience in technical project management and cross-functional coordination
- Analytical, structured, and results-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent in English and German
- Willingness to travel
