We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to manage and guide a team of process and test engineers in PCBA and Assembly areas. This role is critical for supporting new product launches, optimizing production processes, and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead the engineering team in day-to-day activities across PCBA processes (Laser, Solder Paste Printing, Glue Dispensing, SPI, SMT Mounting, Reflow, AOI, X-Ray, ICT/Flash/FCT, Milling, Pin Insertion, Selective/Wave Soldering, Coating) and Assembly processes (Glue Dispensing, Hot Riveting, Screwing, Clipping, Lasering, EOL Testing).
- Define team headcount and budget, create career development plans, set individual goals, and evaluate performance.
- Ensure proper training and knowledge transfer for technicians and setters.
New Product Launch Support
- Participate in equipment specification, pre-acceptance, installation, and acceptance runs.
- Create operator work instructions, visual aids, and production support documentation.
- Implement new products on existing equipment/lines and run sample production.
- Prepare production reports (output, cycle time, OEE, scrap rate), capability studies, and R&R analysis.
- Participate in workshops (Process Mapping, LEAN, SMED, PFMEA, Design for Manufacturing).
Series Production Support
- Drive continuous improvement projects, reverse PFMEA, and LEAN workshops.
- Implement design changes in manufacturing and support release runs.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues beyond technician/setter expertise.
- Optimize processes for ergonomics, cycle time reduction, and 5S compliance.
- Maintain cycle time and capacity calculations for equipment and lines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Industrialization, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and HR teams.
- Share best practices with engineers from other plants.
Profile
- 5+ years in Production Engineering, Technical Support, or similar roles in the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with SMT production is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years in a leadership role, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of incident management, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder alignment skills.
- Very good English (written and spoken).
