Global Industrial Engineer - Control Engineering

About the Role

 

As a Global Industrial Engineer for Control Engineering, you will drive the industrialization and implementation of control systems within Electronics and Micro-Assembly manufacturing. Working closely with R&D, Industrialization, Production, and external suppliers, you will support new product introductions, develop automation solutions, and ensure efficient, standardized, and scalable manufacturing processes across global sites.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the industrialization and deployment of control systems for new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability from the early development phase.
  • Develop and implement control systems for assembly and testing applications, including dispensing, screwing, riveting, and related automation technologies.
  • Coordinate equipment development, supplier activities, system testing, validation, and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and continuously improve existing control systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Support production, maintenance, and operations teams with technical expertise.
  • Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing sites.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical or production-related project coordination within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT and reflow soldering.
  • Strong expertise in industrial control systems, automation, robotics, and motion control.
  • Experience with PLC programming (preferably Beckhoff and Siemens) and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and SAP; CAD knowledge (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is an advantage.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to work effectively in an international environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 30%).
