The Lead Projector Engineer plays a central role in the development of projector modules, ensuring robust, validated and reliable technical solutions while leading and mentoring the Projector Engineering team. The role of Lead Projector Engineer is based in our Exterior & Lighting Business Group in Nový Jičín, Czech Republic.
Responsibilities:
- Leading projector project teams and ensuring robust, reliable optical, mechanical and electronic solutions
- Following development processes and managing assigned small project team
- Managing BOMs, risks, and technical documentation
- Cooperating with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams from concept to SOP
- Ensuring compliance with DFMEA, CAE, DV plans, and certification standards
- Leading night drives, homologation, PPAP deliverables
- Supporting innovation, cost optimization, and new business development
- Ensuring IP protection and sharing project lessons learned
Requirements:
- University degree in Optics/Physics or Mechanical Engineering or at least 3 years’ experience with development in automotive industry
- At least 3 years of experience in leading technical projects and customer communication
- Previous experience in projector/headlamp design and plastic injection is a big plus
- Advanced English (both written and spoken)
- Strong planning, decision-making, and presentation skills
- Leadership and team coordination abilities
- Customer and result orientation, stress management, and self-reliance
