Program Buyer
Profile & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain, ideally with a specialization in Purchasing.
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, ideally within the automotive or plastics industry.
- Strong knowledge of project management in an industrial environment.
Core Competencies
- Solid understanding of purchasing strategies and supplier management.
- Skilled in technical and commercial negotiations.
- Good knowledge of commercial law and contractual frameworks.
- Proficient in project management, including planning, risk control, and milestone follow‑up.
- Understanding of finance & cash management (costing, cash flow impact, budgeting).
- Knowledge in logistics (Consignment, VMI, Incoterms).
- Ability to manage crisis situations with a calm and solution‑oriented approach.
- Fluent in English (spoken & written).
- Excellent communication skills, leadership, and a strong team-player mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing Leadership
- Lead all purchasing activities related to the assigned program (excluding CAPEX).
- Own the Quality, Cost, and Timing (Q/C/T) performance of free‑sourced suppliers for the project.
- Drive the sourcing strategy in collaboration with the Lead Buyer.
- Manage the project purchasing budget, including both hours and financial resources.
Supplier & Project Management
- Manage and close purchase orders related to the project and ensure adherence to the payment schedule.
- Guarantee a flawless launch with suppliers, ensuring no-impact events at SOP.
- Ensure:
- Gap-to-target follow‑up
- On‑time PPAP
- Tier‑2 supplier readiness
- Accurate project hours tracking (status & forecast)
- Contribution to cash‑in / cash‑out performance
- Proper execution of work packages through OPTIMAP
