MISSION

  • The Plant manager is responsible for the management of overall Production, Technical and Administrative activities associated with manufacturing of automotive fuel systems including, but not limited to:  quality, delivery, customer satisfaction and relations, safety and environmental, human resources, manufacturing and process engineering, production scheduling, purchasing and finance etc.  
  • This includes responsibility for planning, directing, implementing, measuring, analyzing, profitability and efficiency of the Plant. 
  • The Plant Manager represents plant and is responsible and accountable for legal and regulatory compliance as well as community relations within the country of China and the local community.  Plant Manager duties require unusual hours and may require travel on a regular basis.

TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES

General Management :

  • Managing P&L and all functions within the plant including. Production, Maintenance, Quality, HR and Finance.
  • Establish facility and departmental budgets, objectives, and measurement systems (indicators) which align with the regional and global goals such as:  productivity, efficiency, safety, quality and profitability
  • Develop and maintain disciplined and consistent business and measurement processes to insure proper tracking and accuracy of performance metrics and financial data
  • Fully responsible as plant manager for the legal and financial (Profit and Loss; Balance Sheet) of the Inergy Automotive Systems (Wuhan) LTD
  • Working alongside central sales team but responsible for driving business through identifying cross selling opportunities etc.

Safety and Compliance

  • Planning and directing the activities of the facility to ensure the safety, the production of the highest quality products, in a timely manner, delivered on time to the customer in the most cost effective manner
  • Develop and maintain effective employee, community and labor relations
  • Effective negotiation of contracts with local labor unions in collaboration with parent-company
  • Develop and maintain the proper internal controls to ensure compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations
  • Maintain property, facility and equipment in proper, safe working condition
  • Must personally comply with Inergy’s Code of Conduct and all work rules, policies and procedures; and hold others accountable to the same standard
  • Must comply with all safety rules and regulations, promote safety awareness, and hold others accountable to the same safety standards
  • Is responsible for adhering to all principles of the quality, safety, and environmental systems implemented in this facility
  • Responsible for all audits ( external and internal)

Production and Maintenance

  • Ensure safety and effective assembly line, production team member stability and manufacture good quality product to meet customer requirement
  • In charge of improving and keeping related production field machinery and 5S as communicating with Production manager and production team line leader ensure production quantity and quality.
  • Ensure production shift according to production plan, and manage the OT hours.
  • Plant manager together with Engineering manages support production to improve product quality, optimize the process flow and parameter to improve production efficiency; to reduce machine break down and shorten SMED time;
  • Manage the Engineering team to support production/maintenance team to analyze the complex problem on the machine and assure the machine work in normal situation.

 

Quality  control  and Process Improvement

  • Ensure that quality and environmental systems are operating according to required standards including, but not limited to:  TS16949, ISO14001, etc.
  • Champion and drive PO Inergy’s IPS and Manufacturing Excellence continuous improvement and corrective action activities through participation (lead by example) and training of the workforce

 Stakeholder and Team Management

  • Provides direction and leadership to the plant management team and employees
  • Over looks staff training and development plan, including a succession plan for facility
  • Develop and maintain a team environment
  • Develop and maintain internal and external customer relations
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and developmental support to direct reports and other positions as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

PROFILE REQUIRED

 

Personal Background

  • B.S. in Engineering, Business Administration or related field, Master degree preferred
  • 35 – 45 years old with approx. 15 years manufacturing experience - plastics and/or automotive preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ prior experience leading P&L of plant.
  • 2+ years lean manufacturing experience – Toyota Production System, Six Sigma, Hoshin,  5S etc.
  • Strong Process and Quality understanding
  • 5 years multi-disciplinary management experience - i.e. Manufacturing, Quality, , Engineering, & Production
  • China  or foreigner with fluent Mandarin Chinese and working experience in China

 

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, hands on personality, ability to drive change in manufacturing processes and culture.
  • Understanding of manufacturing supply chain, Product launch experience
  • Financial Analysis knowledge and skills including Budgeting, Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Computer knowledge
  • Bi-lingual:  English speaking and writing at intermediary level required, Chinese fluency required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels in the organization
  • Excellent presentation/public speaking capability and leadership presence
  • Must be flexible, dependable and build collaborative relationships with team members and peer groups
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, retain and motivate talented resources
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others

  • Proven ability to collect, analyze and communicate data
  • Position related training will be provided on an on-going and as needed basis
