This position can be localised in our R&D Center in France (near Lyon) or within one of our other sites/plants in Europe (mainly Spain or Poland)
Description of the position:
Within the Industrial Process Performance Department, you will work closely with all plants of the Exterior & Lighting Business Group (in France and all around the World).
Main missions are:
Leads industrial projects related to paint robot refurbishment plan or new robotic paint lines
Ensures paint application and robotics commissioning with the plant and equipment supplier to reach expected quality and performance levels
Supports new projects development in plants: path programming (offline/online), paint brush definition, quality requirements achievement (color, appearance, film build)
Supports OEE and scrap convergences in the different plants (optimization/performance improvement projects, path programming transfer and quality of application optimization)
Leads productivity improvement projects (test and validation of new sprayers, paint transfer efficiency, cycle time,…)
Leads digitalization topics in paint application fields (paint application simulation, Brush characterization, offline path programming)
Defines the best paint application parameters in accordance with customers’ specifications and application tools by developing standards and training sessions
Leads the internal training around paint application (path programming, brush development, process control,…)
Supports trouble shooting activity related to paint robotic stations
Main activities are:
1.0 Industrial Project Development
• Leads industrial projects (specifications, sourcing, engineering, modular build, installation, commissioning) related to robotic paint application
• Validates digitalization of new robot cell for path programming definition.
• Ensures the commissioning for the robotics part for new paint line or refurbishment
• Plans, organizes, and assists to initial samples realization
• Capitalizes on lessons learnt
2.0 Process – Product Development and Expertise – Innovation: New Process, New Technologies –
• May participate in projects led by Innovation department
• Industrializes validated innovations
• Capitalizes through an activity report and associated action plans
• Leads “metier” projects, or contribute to “metier” projects
• Creates, deploys digitalization tools or methodologies through the business group
3.0 Productivity – Optimization – Operational Excellence
• Leads action plans to increase productivity
• Manages / coordinates or take part in productivity workshops on plant request
• Participates in specific assessments when required (e.g. paint assessment) or on problem solving workshops regarding robotics and paint application
• Proposes solutions to the work group and/or validate proposed solutions (adjustments, products / process modifications)
• Capitalizes the validated actions
4.0 Training
• Designs training course (e.g. robot studio, robot guide, robot for paint handling…)
• Trains the new Paint setting engineers and plant robots technicians.
PROFILE :
- Education : Bachelor with experience or Master degree or experiences on paint robotics for plastic parts for automotive business.
- Experience : 5 years in paint robotics field for plastic parts or automotive industry.
Experience with DURR or ABB or FANUC paint robots is mandatory with capacity to develop projects on DXQ3DOnsite or Roboguide or Robotstudio.
- Knowledge : Automotive global requirements, IATF16949 & Customer specific requirements, Automotive trends mastering. Digital know-how is a plus
- Key technical competences : Painting Robot Commissioning, Paint Elesctrostatic Application, Gun and Bell paint application
- Softskills : Coordination in a matrix organisation, Capacity to influence & convince, Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Results Oriented
- Language expectations : Fluent English (German and/or Spanish will be appreciated)
