Job Description
Within the site’s Purchasing department, you will support the Europe Buyer in supplier management and coordination with cross-functional teams. You will contribute to the implementation of purchasing strategies, project follow-up, and the improvement of operational processes, while also supporting administrative tasks and departmental reporting.
This apprenticeship will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of how a Purchasing department operates and allow you to develop your skills in sourcing, negotiation, and project management.
Desired start date: September 2026
Duration: 2 to 3 years
Main responsibilities:
As an apprentice, you will assist the Buyer for the European scope. Your main tasks will include:
- Identifying and developing a strong supplier base:
You will contribute to the identification, evaluation, and selection of suppliers to build a reliable and high-performing supplier base. The objective is to secure supply, improve product/service quality, optimize commercial terms, and build long-term partnerships. - Supporting cross-functional teams in Purchasing (Supply Chain, Project Buyers, Quality, and other departments):
You will interact with various internal teams to understand their needs and facilitate coordination with suppliers.
This collaborative work will help optimize processes, resolve operational issues more quickly, and contribute to project success. - Negotiating with suppliers:
You will assist buyers in negotiations concerning purchasing conditions, including paint prices, productivity gains, payment terms, logistics terms, and incoterms.
Your contributions will help improve the company’s competitiveness. - Monitoring and updating the Business Plan:
You will participate in managing the Business Plan, a key tool for tracking strategies related to new project awards.
You will support performance analysis, goal tracking, and data updates to aid decision-making throughout the year. - Collecting key information to help the Commodity Buyer define and implement strategies for their scope
- Creating and analyzing supplier RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and identifying new opportunities
- Handling administrative tasks:
- Purchasing reporting
- Order management
- Invoice dispute management
- Contract follow-up (from creation to signature)
- ERP updates
As you gain experience, you may be entrusted with additional responsibilities.
Candidate profile:
- You are pursuing a Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Plastics Engineering, or Polymers
- You have an advanced level of English (C1/C2)
- Intermediate Spanish or German is a plus
- Knowledge of chemistry, particularly polymers, is an asset
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), preferably at an advanced level
- Knowledge of SAP and Power BI would be an advantage
- You have strong analytical skills
- You communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- You are curious, rigorous, and determined
- You are persuasive and well-organized
