JOB DESCRIPTION

Based at OPmobility's international R&D center Sigmatech, you will actively participate in developing an innovative methodology for characterizing recycled materials. This internship will offer you the opportunity to contribute to optimizing validation methods for recycled materials, which are crucial to sustainable development projects in the automotive industry. You will work closely with our experts to ensure the quality and efficiency of the selected materials.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define a protocol to characterize recycled materials from pre-selected samples
  • Create testing procedures for the physico-chemical characterization of these materials
  • Conduct tests and characterizations on polypropylene-based materials, with or without talc
  • Analyze the results and establish correlations between these characterizations and the processing conditions on our production sites
  • Contribute to enriching our database on recycled materials
  • Present your results to the materials and sustainability expert teams, and actively participate in discussions to adjust practices based on findings

 

PROFILE

  • Graduate student (BAC+5) pursuing degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar
  • Proficiency in polymer characterization techniques
  • Knowledge of physico-chemical properties of polymers
  • Proficiency in Office 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Word & Excel
  • Possesses advanced levels of fluency in English and French
  • Strong communication and synthesis skills
  • Organized, rigorous and analytical mindset
  • Collaborative team player
  • Curious and dynamic

 

DURATION

6-month internship starting February/March 2025

 

LOCATION

Sigmatech - Avenue du Bois des Vergnes, 01150 Sainte-Julie (30 km from Lyon - carpooling options are available).

 

COMPENSATION

Calculated according to level of degree | +company restaurant subsidy + transportation allowance + Access to on-site sports gym
