JOB DESCRIPTION

Based at OPmobility's international R&D center, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a method for characterizing and analyzing the mechanical properties of bonded plastic assemblies used in the automotive sector. You will work on optimizing the reliability and efficiency of these assemblies in collaboration with a team of material engineering experts.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct a literature review on the mechanical characterization techniques of bonded assemblies, focusing on plastic materials 
  • Develop a testing protocol to assess the resistance of adhesives to peeling and delamination by comparing different adhesive chemistry formulations
  • Manage experimental tests in our on-site laboratory (sample preparation, test execution and data analysis)
  • Analyze the results of these tests, emphasizing feasibility, repeatability, and ease of execution
  • Contribute to enhancing our database on adhesive studies
  • Write a detailed technical report summarizing your findings

 

PROFILE

  • Graduate student (BAC+5) pursuing degree in Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of material mechanics and experimental characterization
  • Ability to interpret mechanical test results
  • Understanding of the mechanical and physicochemical properties of adhesives
  • Past experience in adhesion and bonding would be a plus
  • Proficiency in Office 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Word & Excel
  • Possesses advanced levels of fluency in English and French
  • Strong communication and synthesis skills
  • Organized, rigorous and analytical mindset
  • Collaborative team player
  • Curious and dynamic

 

DURATION

6-month internship starting January/ February 2025

 

LOCATION

Sigmatech - Avenue du Bois des Vergnes, 01150 Sainte-Julie (30 km from Lyon - carpooling options are available).

 

COMPENSATION

Calculated according to level of degree | +company restaurant subsidy + transportation allowance + Access to on-site sports gym
