BU INDUSTRIAL MANAGER - MAINTENANCE ASIA
Ready to take on meaningful challenges and shape the next generation of mobility? Joining OPmobility means stepping into a global group with a purpose to keep people and goods moving safely, smarter, and sustainably everywhere.
As the Regional Maintenance Technical Manager for Asia, you will lead the regional maintenance strategy and technical roadmap to maximize the availability, reliability, and efficiency of manufacturing assets, with a particular focus on Blow Molding Machines (BMM) and other critical production equipment. You will establish and continuously optimize maintenance standards, spare parts infrastructure, technical support networks, and supplier partnerships while driving predictive maintenance, digital transformation, and safety excellence initiatives. Through strong collaboration with plants, regional teams, and global headquarters, you will strengthen maintenance capabilities, promote best practice sharing, and ensure the sustainable development of maintenance excellence across Asia to support business growth and manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
Regional Maintenance System Establishment & Optimization (Spare parts / Standard / Network / Supplier / Competence building)
- Maintenance system deployment: Build and continuously improve Asia maintenance management system, cover spare‑parts management framework, maintenance work standards & work instructions, regional maintenance support network and qualified supplier system. Drive implementation across all Asia plants to lower overall equipment failure rate.
- BMM full‑lifecycle maintenance capability setup: Establish complete operation‑maintenance system for Blow Molding Machines, including spare‑parts strategy, formal maintenance work instructions, skill training delivery. Provide technical support for major BMM retrofits and automation upgrade projects for blow‑molding assets.
- Regional maintenance hot‑line operation: Manage Asia maintenance hot‑line daily operation. Receive plant technical support requests, coordinate internal & external resources, track issue resolution progress to ensure timely response and effective problem solving for on‑site plant equipment issues.
- Maintenance safety management: Lead maintenance‑focused safety special projects, identify and eliminate maintenance‑related safety hazards. Ensure safety regulations are fully executed by maintenance team and for all equipment maintenance work, prevent safety accidents in maintenance activities.
BMM availability improvement
- Major BMM issues/Big events: regional all BMM major issues and big event management, lesson learns and permanent solution definition (Ex: BMM robot installation and retrofit; head leakage; damaged shuttle rails & bearings & ATO gripper replacement; bayonet ring & screw modification; Tie-bar replacement; PIB and INWIN2.0 modification; potential safety issue…)
-
- Critical BMM OEE improvement via cross-functional task force (Ex: TSBM ; critical BMM availability vs business requirement …)
- Asia BMM Guarantee System: 1) Collaborate with regional maintenance, DM and plant team, to build-up and reinforce BMM Guarantee system from Predictive Maintenance and Permanent solution
- BMM DM system Development & deployment: as BMM machine and BMP process regional owner to develop and deploy concerning DM solutions (Ex: Dasip; Smart-BMM, Clean-Extrusion, IR parison length
Maintenance Digitalization, Predictive Maintenance & Equipment Monitoring
- Drive deployment of predictive maintenance solutions and equipment condition monitoring for key assets, including monitoring for heater bands, grinders and other critical peripherals.
- Leverage digital tools to collect equipment operational data, analyse asset health status, identify potential failure risks in advance to improve overall equipment running efficiency.
- Support digital team for roll‑out of maintenance‑oriented digital applications, participate in data mining for failure root‑cause analysis, transfer knowledge to plant maintenance teams.
Regional Maintenance Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement (KPI / Energy Efficiency / Cost Optimization)
- Build up Asia maintenance knowledge repository: Align and exchange with global headquarters teams, absorb maintenance best practices from other continents. Collect, organize and disseminate Asia‑site failure cases and lessons‑learnt, promote cross‑plant knowledge sharing to lift regional maintenance expertise level.
- Lead regional maintenance‑related KPI improvement plan (Regional KPI Plan): Drive reduction of maintenance cost and improvement of energy utilization efficiency (electric‑power consumption for production assets). Set targets, deploy action plans and track execution performance.
- Organize regional maintenance‑skill training for plant teams, develop maintenance competences for local maintenance engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years solid working experience in equipment maintenance field, proven team leadership experience.
- Solid technical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems for industrial production equipment, good understanding of Blow Molding Machine (BMM) and its peripherals (grinders, feeding systems etc.).
- Good knowledge on spare‑part network setup and maintenance supplier management.
- Strong project management capability, skills in cost tracking, budget control, planning and action‑plan deployment.
- Ability to communicate openly with external suppliers, across multi‑disciplinary and cross‑country organization teams. ‑ Safety‑oriented mindset with high awareness for maintenance‑related occupational safety.
- Good English proficiency (fluent in speaking, listening, reading and writing).
