Engineering Project Manager

Activities

Product design & validation:

• Work according to SHE requirements
• Can be involved in upstream phases of the project (expertise phase, acquisition phase)
• Analyze Customer Needs and Draw-up PO Specifications
• Define the concepts of the product design to meet customers specifications and GD&T and ensure that the design for manufacturing (assembly, paint & packaging) are fulfilled
• Is the main technical contact with the customer during the design & tuning phases
• Is responsible for providing functional specifications for baby parts
• Manage and perform risk analysis (DFMEA + Design reviews)
• Manage Specifications, manufacturing and validation of the means (injection tools, checking fixtures, test jigs, End Of Arm Tooling)
• Manage Product validation (functional, geometry and cosmetic quality)
• Manage Product tuning (mould tuning, checking fixture tuning)
• Participate to capitalization and to productivity actions
• At the end of the project, participate to the closure of project and gives feed back regarding best practices and difficulties

Project Management:

• Define initial Statement of Work of product engineering perimeter including extended team, regarding project perimeter, development budget (hours) and Optimap Work Packages
• Define and set up the engineering project planning
• Manage the engineering project reviews, consolidates actions and provides reporting and action plans
• Participate to QUAD (product & process feasibility milestones) reviews
• Track perimeter changes and reports to the PM
• He proposes adjustments and modifications linked to perimeter evolution during project life time

Budget management:

• Ensure product PRU commitment for the design relevant criteria
• Allocate budget to his extended team
• Ensure the follow up of project budget and escalade in case of deviation
• Determine internal and external perimeter versus SOW
• Contribute to investment optimization through part design
• Depending on the project size, he can also handle himself some activities of his/her extended team

• Knowledge / Qualification:
• Design and/or development of plastic parts for automotive industry
• Ensures the product design and product industrialization include manufacturing
• Ensures cross functional management of his/her extended team
• Ensure RETEX and lessons learnt
