Assembly Engineer, Tangier, Morocco

Job description

 

The Tangier plant is preparing for the launch of several new customer programs, which will require strong technical support to ensure a smooth and robust Start of Production (SOP).
In parallel, there is a growing need to reinforce the Process Performance Team to secure equipment readiness, process stability, and continuous improvement.

Within this context, the V.I.E Assembly Engineer will play a key role in supporting project launches, validating new assembly equipment, and contributing to the plant’s operational excellence.

 

The Assembly Engineer V.I.E will contribute to the development, installation, commissioning, and validation of new assembly equipment for upcoming projects in the Tangier plant. He/She will follow each phase from supplier development to ramp‑up performance, ensuring that equipment reaches OPmobility standards in safety, quality, and productivity.

 

Responsibilities & Activities

1. Equipment Development & Supplier Follow‑Up

  • Monitor the design, manufacturing, and testing of assembly equipment at supplier facilities.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and control plans to ensure compliance with OPmobility standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and risk analyses to identify improvement points early in the process.

2. Installation & Commissioning in the Tangier Plant

  • Oversee installation, start‑up, and debugging of assembly equipment in the plant.
  • Coordinate supplier activities on-site to ensure safe and efficient assembly line integration.
  • Support parameter tuning, ergonomic improvements, and process stabilization.

3. Equipment Validation & Ramp‑Up

  • Lead formal equipment validation: FAT, SAT, capability studies, run‑at‑rate.
  • Track and resolve open issues during production ramp‑up, ensuring timely and sustainable closure.
  • Document issues, action plans, and performance recovery progress.

4. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Project Team (Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality) during launch phases.
  • Interface with the Plant Team (Technical Manager, Production Manager, Maintenance).
  • Support knowledge transfer, training, and formal handover of equipment at the required performance and quality levels.

5. Participation in New Project Start‑Ups

  • Join a dynamic plant equipped with new assembly lines and technologies.
  • Contribute to the launch of multiple new customer projects, gaining exposure to diverse processes and industrial challenges.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the Process Performance Team.

 

 

Profile

 

You are a highly motivated young graduate with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.

 

You can read and interpret technical drawings with ease and have a solid understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, and basic control systems. Knowledge of problem‑solving tools—such as 5Why, Ishikawa, QRQC, or PDCA—is appreciated and would be considered an advantage.

You are a team player, a self-learner and can demonstrate leadership as well as good communication skills. 

Open-minded and with a desire to learn, you demonstrate willingness to embark on an international career. You feel comfortable interacting with suppliers, engineers, and production team and you have a  willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to fast‑paced industrial project launches is essential.

 

You are fluent in English, French and Arabic would be a plus
