Job title: Digital Manufacturing Engineer

 

Location: Plastic Omnium Auto Inergy, Troy, MI, U.S.A.

 

Job duties: Gather plastic fuel tank coextrusion blow molding machine (BMM) manufacturing requirements, analyze, and document software architecture, and deploy hardware and software in manufacturing plants including server installation, camera calibration, operator training, and validation of performance under production conditions. Engineer, design, validate, and release software, in Python, C/C++ and JavaScript programming languages, in Linux and Windows operating systems, to improve and optimize coextrusion BMM processes to produce passenger vehicle fuel tanks in high volume manufacturing plant environment. Apply knowledge of BMM technologies for effective utilization of personnel, material, machines, and facilities.

 

Travel requirements: Required travel to U.S., Mexico, Brazil and Argentina fuel tank manufacturing plants to deploy machine tool software and troubleshoot production issues, up to 6 weeks per year (equal to ~12% annual travel).

 

Education: Master, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related.

 

Experience: Twenty-four months’ experience as an Engineer or related, engineering or validating software, in Python, C/C++, JavaScript programming languages to improve coextrusion blow molding machine (BMM) processes to produce fuel tanks in high volume manufacturing plant environment, or related.
