OPmobility is launching a new manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH, and we are seeking an experienced and inspiring Plant Director to lead this strategic site. This is a critical leadership opportunity for a forward‑thinking operations executive passionate about safety, people, performance, and operational excellence.
Mission of the Role
The Plant Director will oversee all operational, financial, and strategic aspects of the Toledo site, ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer‑focused environment. This leader will champion OPmobility standards, drive cultural alignment, foster strong community relationships, and ensure the successful launch and long‑term competitiveness of the new plant.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Ensure full compliance with Corporate and Division HSE and Energy requirements.
- Lead the site’s management team with clarity, transparency, and strong communication.
- Deploy IPI standards effectively to strengthen site competitiveness.
- Implement the production plan while ensuring adherence to customer quality standards.
- Stop production when necessary to address safety or environmental risks.
Strategic Performance & Growth
- Own the plant’s progress roadmap and deliver on annual budget commitments.
- Drive structured problem‑solving processes at all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate closely with Optipro and Optimap projects to ensure smooth technology and process transfer.
- Actively support and animate the Launch Readiness process as a key leader.
People & Culture Leadership
- Build and manage the plant’s organizational structure, including performance, development, and mindset.
- Promote a healthy organizational culture, strong communication, and adherence to POAE industrial relations practices.
- Agree on workforce planning in partnership with development managers.
- Lead by example and cascade Division objectives, policies, and safety expectations.
External & Community Engagement
- Represent OPmobility with credibility and professionalism.
- Maintain strong relationships with local authorities and the surrounding community.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Significant leadership experience in plant operations, including managing managers and leading full departmental areas.
- Strong leadership capabilities—planning, decision‑making, active listening, and effective communication.
- Customer‑oriented mindset with a proven ability to represent the organization internally and externally.
- Excellent command of English.
- Experience supporting major operational launches is a strong asset.
