Essential Functions/Duties

  • Procurement Management: Source, negotiate, and purchase goods, materials, and services to meet the company's operational requirements.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Assess and evaluate suppliers, conduct performance reviews, and manage performance improvement activities.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers, and review opportunities for cost savings.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers to identify areas of opportunity and reduce costs.
  • Supply Chain Continuity: Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials, and communicate any supply problems that may impact business operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies, procedures, and relevant regulations during supplier negotiations and contract awards.
  • Cost Management: Develop strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, and work towards continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with stakeholders and suppliers on new projects, supplies, and initiatives, and advise on the impact of changes.
  • Cost Saving Initiatives: Initiate projects that will lead to cost savings
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues with suppliers.
  • Reporting: Deliver briefs, updates, and reports as required, and keep stakeholders informed of any risks or concerns.
  • People Management: Mentor and coach junior buyers to enhance their career and professional development.
  • Equipment Sourcing: Source and purchase equipment necessary for production, maintenance, and operational efficiency
  • MRO Management: Oversee the purchase of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies, ensuring the availability of essential materials and services for the upkeep of equipment and facilities
  • Understand and comply with company EHS policy
  • Data Analysis Skills: Utilize strong data analysis skills to interpret procurement data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations to improve purchasing strategies
  • Reporting and Presentation: Develop and present detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders, effectively communicating data insights and procurement performance

 

Professional /Technical Training:

  • PC / common working knowledge (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Knowledge / experience in Project Work
  • Facilitator-/presentation techniques
  • SAP / common working knowledge
  • Skilled negotiator / contract management
  • Intermediate to advanced Analysis skills
  • Technical understanding of product, parts and equipment

 

Related Experience/Specialized Knowledge:

  • 3-5 years in similar position
  • Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
  • Automotive purchasing and Program Launch experience

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Management, Engineering or Equivalent
