MISSION
The HR Payroll Specialist supports the processing of the US and Canadian payroll (salaried and hourly) for OPMobility, including the day-to-day operations, maintenance and technical support for all payroll applications and coordinating with Finance, HR, IS&S and HR Managers. This work is done with the support of a Payroll Supervisor and Payroll Manager.
Responsibilities & Activities
Responsibility 1: Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, adhering to all relevant laws and regulations
- Ensure all timecards are approved by the deadline, reconcile to payroll reports
- Reconcile payroll records with approved timecards
- Ensure data integrity of payroll systems, through review of all changes to employee profile
- Process all deductions as needed including but not limited to wage garnishment processing
- Communicate with managers to resolve issues with payroll
Responsibility 2: Provide reporting for payroll and HR applications
- Support HR & Finance projects such as annual increases, bonus calculations, compensation reporting and budget files
- Analyze and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts, as needed
- Participate in monthly and annual closing procedures
- Participate in internal and external audits, as required
Responsibility 3: Train managers and staff on correct use of payroll system
- Conduct training sessions as needed
Responsibility 4: Payroll administrative responsibilities
- Manage invoice processing for payroll and HR clients, as needed
- Review and respond where necessary to US mail inquiries and electronic email
- Other duties as assigned

Job Technical skills
- 5+ years’ experience with payroll processing
- Excellent understanding of payroll tax requirements
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Applications
- Expert with various HRIS applications
- Ability to collect, maintain, and analyze data
- Experience with payroll systems
Job Soft skills
- Ability to maintain working relationships with internal and external customers
- Act with extreme awareness of confidentiality in all aspects of job
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
