The Role of Product Design Engineer is based in our Exterior & Lighting Business Group in Weissenburg, Germany.

As a Product Design Engineer, you drive product development from concept phase to start of production. 

In collaboration with internal experts, you ensure product design meets customer requirements, follow manufacturing best practices, and achieve project targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer specifications (gap & flush, interfaces, styling surfaces).
  • Conduct Styling feasibility studies.
  • Define part and assembly concepts ( section model, isostatism, fixation..).
  • Lead CAD team to achieve 3D / 2D maturity within project timelines.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and validate CAD deliverables.
  • Organize design reviews and manage action plans to ensure product maturity.
  • Collaborate with experts such as tooling, manufacturing for part optimization.
  • Support prototype builds, tool trials, and customer validation.
  • Support industrialization phase up to SOP ensuring final part approval.

 

Profile:

  • Master’s degree in engineering with 3–5 years of proven experience.
  • Proactive, independent, and target-oriented working style.
  • Strong team player, motivated to work in an international environment.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic design rules (shrinkage, demoulding, etc.).
  • Background as CAD engineer and/or plastic part designer.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (3D/2D) is beneficial.
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Willingness to travel, valid driver’s license.
