You are responsible for the planning, design, and industrialization of the end‑to‑end supply chain. You ensure that cost‑effective and robust logistics processes are established across the entire value chain – from initial concept through series production ramp‑up. Acting as a central interface between Development, Logistics Planning, and our production sites, you connect technical, process‑related, and commercial requirements to ensure the optimal practical feasibility and efficiency of all planning content.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead supply chain design activities during quotation phases, including feasibility studies, cost models, and make‑or‑buy analyses
  • Develop, evaluate, and optimize logistics and material flow concepts
  • Define and validate cost structures (CAPEX/OPEX) for logistics and planning topics, including transport, handling, warehousing, returns, and life‑cycle costs
  • Analyze customer requirements and clarify technical, logistical, and commercial topics through direct customer interaction
  • Define material flows, packaging and load carrier concepts, supply scenarios (e.g. JIT/JIS), transportation processes
  • Work closely with Engineering, production plants, suppliers, Purchasing, and Logistics to ensure technically feasible and cost‑optimized end‑to‑end supply chain solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement of supply chain and logistics processes
  • Support SOP and ramp‑up phases, including planning tests, layout validation, and optimization of material flow and line supply
  • Participate in supplier selection and evaluate logistics and packaging solutions with respect to cost, quality, and sustainability

 

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Production Planning, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in supply chain design, production planning, or logistics development, ideally within the automotive industry
  • In‑depth knowledge of material flow, warehousing and transport concepts, supply chain organization, inventory planning, and cost structures
  • Proven experience in designing or implementing different supply models (e.g. Bulk, JIT, JIS)
  • Strong proficiency in cost calculations, business cases, and life‑cycle costing
  • Confident application of Lean methods and digital planning tools
  • Structured, team‑oriented and transparent working style, with strong communication skills, and the ability to manage projects independently
  • Fluent German and English (mandatory)
  • Willingness to travel
