As a Tooling Engineer - Injection Moulding you are part of our Engineering & Development Team in Weißenburg. You ensure the performance, reliability, and optimization of injection tools (> 50 T weight) and processes from design validation to industrialization and plant transfer.
Main Responsibilities:
- Take part in injection tool concept validation and injection system definition
- Act as the main technical interface with toolmakers throughout the project lifecycle
- Bring technical expertise and proposals to improve project targets (Quality, Cycle Time, Cost, Lead Time)
- Support tooling purchasing activities with strong technical input
- Participate in injection trials and lead action plans to achieve defined performance targets
- Analyze trial results, manage tuning loops, and ensure convergence toward stable production conditions
- Contribute to wash-up meetings and provide synthesis of results with cross-functional teams
- Ensure proper update and follow-up of action plans (FAC) and communication with toolmakers
- Guarantee tool and process reliability during factory tool transfer phases
- Troubleshoot injection and tooling issues with a strong analytical approach
- Capitalize on lessons learned (best practices and improvements) and share them within the Injection & Tooling Expertise network
- Participate in customer validation phases (PPAP / PVS)
- Maintain and update technical databases (materials, shrinkage, trial data, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, procedures, and internal standards
- Collaborate with plants, technical centers, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful industrialization
- Contribute to continuous improvement of injection and tooling processes
Competencies & Requirements :
- Tooling Technician or Master or comparable
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Injection Molding and Tooling within an industrial environment
- Strong understanding of injection processes, tooling design, and plastic behavior
- Ability to read and interpret rheology studies and technical data
- Experience working with toolmakers and managing technical discussions
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production or trial environments
- Knowledge of automotive standards and industrial constraints is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office and design software or viewers
- Structured, reliable, and results-oriented with strong attention to detail
- Team player with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent in English and German
- Willingness to travel (approximately 10–20%, mainly for trials and plant support)
