Industrial Engineer & EHS Professional
Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial on manufacturing engineering is mandatory or college diploma with minimum 5 years experience. Master’s is preferred.
Language Skills: English (mandatory), Spanis and German (A plus).
Professional Training: Lean Manufacturing and JIS/ JIT production system implementation.
Related Experience/Specialized Knowledge:
- AutoCAD, MTM, PLC, Robotics, Vision system implementation, VA/ VE, Six Sigma Green Belt
- IATF16949/CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) ISO 14001
- Proficiency in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Lead the Preparedness and Response to an Emergency in Plant
- Experience in ISO45001,14001 & 50001 Systems
- Management of legal compliance
- Experience in JHSC and or safety certification
Additional Skills:
WHMIS, OHSA, ESA, CSA regulations, Machine Guarding, Pre-Start & H&Safety reviews, APQP, MTM-UAS, Must be conscientious and maintain confidentiality on daily planning initiative, efficiency projects evaluations, general project matters, understanding of CMM data, and analysis. Essential Funcion / Duties
- Module assembly & Sequencing planning and execution
- Plan, design concepts, evaluate, optimize, write specifications, follow-up with suppliers light industrial equipment including: assembly facilities, warehousing, assembly lines for automotive modules, assembly cells for automotive, modules, assembly jigs and fixtures, gages for quality check, headlamp alignment processes and lifting devices
- Meet deliverable in terms of quality, deadlines, cost efficiency, process capabilities
- Develop tooling and processes to handle class A surface for exterior and interior modules
- Lean processes, continuous improvement, assembly time optimization, material and information flow optimization, minimal inventories
- Proactively and efficiently agree on deliverables, define requirements, and communicate progress with program teams and with remote functional experts based at the corporate guidelines and in the plants
- Supervise suppliers, document and optimize the execution of equipment and fixtures
- Support and/or drive adherence, changes or improvements tied to improved overall plant Health and Safety requirements
- Take every precaution reasonable to protect the Health and Safety of the workers, visitors, and contractors with the commissioning, servicing, installation, and maintenance of any facility service work and new fabrication
- Installation, procurement, and supervisory oversight of new plant equipment and maintenance repair services as required – supporting modify equipment to support: Safety needs, Quality needs or Efficiency needs
- Has the ability to stop production, upon notifying the Production Supervisor and Plant Manager for Safety related matters requiring immediate machine repair or critical safety items that could endanger life safety
- Quoting of machinery and tooling
- Ensure compliance, maintenance and implementation of safety, health and environmental programs, ensuring that the company complies with all its regulatory obligations at the all levels of government and OPmobility guidelines. Keeps abreast of regulatory changes that may affect the business and develops plans accordingly
- Develop and maintain an EHS culture through monitoring and maintenance of KPIs: LTA, NLTA, Near Misses, Unsafe acts/conditions, TSV, Ergonomics, EHS Training Hours, Environmental metrics, etc
- Complete Month End reporting for both Corporate and Plastic Omnium requirements
- Develop Implement maintain and improve the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OSH) in accordance with current regulations (ISO 45001)
- Responsible for Regulatory compliance associated with waste management (RP, RME, RSU), wastewater discharge, air quality, spill control and any environmental requirement applicable to the Plant. Collaborates in obtaining environmental objectives (informs the corresponding metrics) and ISO 14001 certificate.
- Participate in the design and planning of environmental, health and safety training programs to ensure compliance with all government and corporate requirements, and provide EHS specific training. Identifies training needs associated with EHS
- Advise and actively participate in ergonomic and safety evaluations of machinery and equipment, to ensure risk mitigation in existing processes and launches, as well as comply with applicable regulatory requirements in terms of safety, health and environmental protection.
- Coordinates and carries out evaluations, inspections, gembas and visits in terms of Safety, Health and Environmental Protection, with the aim of identifying unsafe acts and conditions, and guaranteeing that corrective actions are generated and implemented, and maintains a follow-up on these action plans.
- Preparation, support and monitoring of internal and external audits in EHS, participation in internal cross audits within the group.
- Promote and participate in the reporting, analysis and investigation of accidents, incidents and occupational diseases, with the aim of identifying the multiple causes, sustainable mitigations and providing a learning experience for all. Provide monitoring of the implementation of measures and registration of the entire process in the Enablon platform.
- Participate as a core member of the Emergency Response Team and manage the Site Brigades (first aid; spill response; evacuation, communication and fire response) and implement the emergency management program.
- Organize, direct and participate in activities that promote employee participation in safety and environmental programs (safety committees, ergonomics committees, accident investigation committees, etc.);
- Establish actions to maintain safety for critical processes (LOTO, Work at Heights, contractor safety, etc.) and audit their compliance.
Marginal Functions/ Duties
- Valume Stream Map development to assigned processes/ plants (current States vs. New States)
- MTM development for current processes , update to actual times performed for assigned plants/ processes.
- Ensuring compliance to and participate in IATF 16949 and CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) compliance
- \Has the ability to stop production, upon notifying the Supervisor and Plant Manager for quality related nonconforming matters requiring immediate repair
- Support in Maintaining of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 processes\
- Support Maintaining of ISO 45001 processes
