Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate people and processes on the production floor to support safe, high-quality, on-time Just-in-Time / Just-in-Sequence production.
  • Manage daily production requirements to ensure on-time, in-sequence delivery to customers.
  • Communicate regularly with team members and cross-functional partners on safety, quality, production priorities, and team development.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, lead root cause analysis, and support corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Promote safe work practices, ensure prescribed PPE is used, and take every reasonable precaution to protect worker health and safety.
  • Support compliance with company policies, legislative requirements, the collective agreement, grievance procedures, IATF 16949/CSR, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 initiatives.
  • Manage time and attendance processes and assist with disciplinary investigations and corrective action reviews.
  • Partner with Logistics and Maintenance to support material accuracy, preventive maintenance, production readiness, and safe operations.
  • Perform layered process audits, Kaizens, and investigations for line defects while helping reduce scrap and rework.
  • Monitor divisional KPIs, contribute to WCM activities, and take appropriate action to stop production when safety or quality concerns require immediate attention.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile :

  • Grade 12 / OSSD required; post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
  • English language skills required; German and/or Spanish are considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience, ideally in a Tier 1 automotive or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with demonstrated problem-solving capability, including 8D or similar methods.
  • Strong computer skills; knowledge of SAP, PLC functionality, shop floor systems, DCX, and time and attendance systems is an asset.
  • Experience working in a union environment and understanding of OHSA-related legislation, including work refusal processes.
  • Familiarity with material flow, FIFO practices, IATF 16949/CSR, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, manage performance, develop people, and drive results in a collaborative environment.
